Hi I'm Bo Hurley

I love being outside nad being active! I love life, my family and the Lord. Im a student, im a friend, and Im a Mormon.

About Me

My real name is Boise James Hurley. All in all, I would say that I'm about as unique as my name. I'll never know why my parents named me Boise, and I don't think they will ever know either. But even having one of the most interesting names in America, it has not stopped me from having fun and loving life! I am an archery fanatic. Ever since I was ten years old, I've been making my own archery equipment. I've made everything from arrows and quivers, to shooting gloves, and a variety of bows. For me, archery is therapeutic. There isn't anything much more relaxing than being outside an shooting one of my bows. An hour or two of this, makes for good relaxation and reflection time. I've always loved being outside, and everything that comes with it. I like camping, fishing, and hunting, to name a few. Other than being outside, I am a very social person. I love being around other people and having a good time. I love my family. They make my life worthwhile, and I look foward to having a family of my own someday.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was born in the church, I have studied many faiths and I have many friends that belong to a variety of many churches. I have looked my whole life for what the Lord has wanted for me. I have always had a faith in God. But growing up, I often wonder where he wanted me to be, and so being blessed with friends from a variety of denominations has helped me gain an understanding of what options were available. As I have prayed, pondered, and read the scriptures, I have come to know that all faiths have some portion of truth, so long as they are built upon the teachings of Jesus Christ, but as I have prayed, I have gained a testimony that there is no other church on the earth today that has the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ, as does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have read the Bible cover to cover. I've also read the Book of Mormon, and I have come to know they are both the word of God. I've also come to know, that Joseph Smith was a prophet of the Lord, and restored the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ, which had been lost after the death of his apostles. Having this knowledge has greatly blessed my life, and has brought me more peace than I can begin to express. I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ, and I know that all who earnestly seek the Lord in prayer, can come to know for themselves that these things are true.

How I live my faith

I'm far from perfect, but I try to live my faith everyday by having a smile on my face, and by helping out people where I can. I study the scriptures often and love the peace I feel as I study the word of God. I pray everyday and attend church as often as I can, which has helped my faith to grow, and has drawn me closer to the Savior. I served a mission for our church for two years in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I thank the lord everyday for the chance he gave me to serve my brothers and sisters and for allowing me to grow in faith and understanding of His gospel and helping others to do the same.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Bo Hurley
Becasue we seek to follow the teaching and life of Jesus Christ. Nether Christ nor his spostals were payed to preach the everlasting gospel. And if the best teacher the world has ever seen didnt seek to teach for gain but mearly to glorify His Father then why would we seek to do any different. Show more Show less
