Hi I'm Kiana

I am a daughter of God who loves Him!! I love adventures and have lots of fun. I served a mission in Florida. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love running and playing music, specifically piano and cello. I am a senior in college and I am studying Physics Teaching. I love astronomy! I come from a big family, with 11 siblings including two adopted brothers.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and many assume that my testimony rides on the testimony of others. However, I have gained a personal witness that this church contains everything I need to find true and lasting happiness in this life and in the life to come. I have felt my Savior's influence in my life and have found the church to be a way to be an instrument in His hands. This church helps me to stay in line with His will, as many of the church are inspired. Most importantly, the priesthood found in this church has the authority from God to offer important ordinances and to seal families together forever. I believe in that truth and I can think of no greater blessing than to be with my family forever!

How I live my faith

I am a young adult with so many important decisions ahead of me. "Decisions determine destiny" and I live my faith by making sure my Heavenly Father is a part of the choices I make. I pray often so that my relationship with God continues to grow. I do my best to keep the commandments so that I am worthy to receive guidance from the Holy Ghost. I go to church not because I am forced or because it is expected of me. I do this because I know that this is what God wants me to do! I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that everything good in my life is a result of His sacrifice for me. This faith that I have leads me to want to be obedient, repent, and share what I know with the world!

Why did your church previously practice plural marriage (polygamy)?

Kiana
This church was organized in 1830, however it is a restoration of the same Gospel that the people in the Bible had. As such, it was important for all parts of the Gospel to be restored and that includes the principle of polygamy practiced by ancient prophets such as Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, and Solomon. It was used then and in this time to help establish the church. Show more Show less
