Hi I'm Collin Rudd

I love to have fun. I love to laugh and talk with people. I love school, sports and the gospel. I love to learn. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Utah my entire life. I'm part of a wonderful family that I love very much. I am a good student and love athletics. I am okay in all sports, but I like basketball and soccer the most. I was homeschooled and attended private school for all my academic career so far. I also love to watch movies and read books. I love to help other people. I love to make new friends; however, I am pretty shy. I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my entire life. I served as a full time missionary for the church in the Washington Everett Mission (which is helped out with the shyness a little bit). I am attending Brigham Young University and loving it!

Why I am a Mormon

It helped that I was born into a member family. It has been a struggle to find the truth for myself, but I have found that the happiness in my life comes from living and following the gospel. Living the gospel has helped me find peace and satisfaction. I know by the power of the Holy Spirit that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. The Book of Mormon is true. Joseph Smith is a prophet. We have a living prophet today. Living the principles and doctrines of the gospel has greatly blessed my life, and I hope to be able to bless the lives of others and help them find the joy in the gospel that I have found. I am a member of the Church because I know it is true. I cannot deny it. I have felt the whisperings of the Spirit in my mind and in my heart, telling me that the Church is true. There have always been doubts and questions, especially on my mission where my beliefs are challenged daily, yet when I try to find the answers, the one part I always am told by God is that the Church is true. There is no doubt in my mind. It's more than just a church or religion; it's a way of life, a way to find and have purpose and fulfillment in life and have all God wants for us.

How I live my faith

I was a Sunday school teacher in my ward. I have served in priesthood quorum presidencies. I was a ward greeter, and I loved to stand by the door greeting people as they come in. I am serving as a missionary in the Washington Everett Mission. I am very excited for this opportunity. I have always loved to help and serve others. I try to be a good example and do what I know is right. I like to listen to people and try to help them out. I love to answer or find answers to questions. I try to be a good older brother to my siblings and help them. I am always willing to serve and help others with any of their problems. I love to be around people and help them feel loved and feel good.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Collin Rudd
We do not worship Joseph Smith. We revere and respect him as a prophet, like the children of Israel revered and respected Moses or Abraham, but we do not worship him. We worship Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Collin Rudd
It's like being anyone else on the earth. There are lots of good times, but there are also lots of hard times. However, being a member of the Church has given me so much knowledge that despite all the hard and bad times, I know it will turn out all right. I guess I would say that as a Mormon, having a knowledge of the gospel and its restoration, I find a lot of peace in fulfillment in my life. You don't find just happiness in moments; you find lasting joy. Show more Show less
