Hi I'm Lee Jastal

I am a Martial Artist. I love to sing, listen to music and be creative by writing and drawing and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love to sing. There are very few times when I won't be singing my heart out. But, most especially, i love to sing, and listen to Hymns. I have found that when life is tough, or I am just feeling down, I can start singing along to any Hymn that I might hear, or even start singing them by myself, and the world seems to get a little brighter each time. I love martial arts. I have been training for about 8 years, and have suprisingly gotten kinda good at it. The only thing I try not to do for Martial Arts, is attend tournaments and compete. I have decided not to because more often than not, Competitions fall on Sundays and to compete, I would have to do so on the Lord's day. I firmly believe in keeping the Sabbath Day Holy. I am an avid reader and love to sink myself into fictional worlds. Some of my favorite authors to read from are Brandon Sanderson, Robert Jordan, Orson Scott Card and Terry Goodkind. Having such an amazing experience in the Fictional worlds has helped me to decide that I want to be a writer. God has given me many gifts, and I believe that one very special gift He has given me is that of creativity. I have been in the church all my life and have been able to incorporate some of my hobbies into church activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church so I really never knew anything else. But I didn't know for myself that it was true until shortly after I graduated High School. I went to a high school where most of the students were very diverse in their opinions about God or religion in general. I was the only member in my school which was kinda tough even though there were only around eighty kids in the entire place. Given all of this, I was struggling with my beliefs thinking to myself, "What is right?" I got my answer one day when I was praying in my bedroom and this feeling of peace came upon me. I knew then that this is where I need to be. I have also come to know that there is nothing more powerful than the Book of Mormon for developing a testimony of Christ and His reality. I had never really read the book of mormon all the way through until January 2013. I had been challenged to read it in a week and was able to finish it in 8 days. Because of this, I was able to pray and determine for myself that the Book of Mormon is true and that, as the prophet Joseph Smith said, "It is the most correct of any book, and a man will get closer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book." I love this church. I love the peace that is brought by the Gospel that it contains, which Gospel is the true and everlasting Gospel of the Son of God. I Know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know that this is His church and His Gospel once again restored to the earth. I know it, I live it and I love it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by coming out to serve. I try to carry my beliefs in my character and attitude. I love to share the gospel with others, though I don't always do it. It makes me feel like I am living a better life every time I share what we believe as Latter-day Saints. I love to participate in service projects too. In fact I feel as though that is one of the best ways to show that I love my faith and that I absolutely %100 love my Heavenly Father. He has always been there for me, so I try my best to always be there for Him. Another way I live my faith is just by being a general example of it to those I come into contact with. As a martial artist, I believe that I can show my beliefs through the way I carry myself in the martial arts world. It is one of my personal beliefs that through martial arts, I can show others a better way of living and explain that I live this way because I am a Mormon. I have learned that through martial arts I have been able to strengthen my belief in the Gospel of Jesus Christ by finding ways that they can be intertwined. I also love to sing. Singing is one of my absolute favorite things to do. I have been blessed with a talent for singing and one of the ways I can show my faith is by raising my voice in praise to God for others to hear and enjoy. I also believe that when I do, I can help others feel his Spirit and Love through the gift of music.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Lee Jastal
I absolutely believe that there is a prophet like Moses alive today. His name is Thomas S. Monson and he is the one who helps to lead the church. In the Bible and in the Book of Mormon, God has time and again called men to help lead and guide his people. Well, in the bible, we also here over and over again, that God is always the same, or never changing. So if God never changes, I know that I can count on Him to do what he has always done and call a Prophet again today. I wholeheartedly believe that, because God never changes, we can have the assurance that He will always call a Prophet to lead and guide His people in the right direction. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Lee Jastal
Listen, Learn, Pray personally to Heavenly Father, Be willing to act on the Answer you receive. In the Book of Mormon, there is a promise given by the Prophet Moroni, (the last prophet in the Book of Mormon). it is found on page 529, in Chapter 10 verses 3-5. It tells us that when we receive any information pertaining to the Gospel, that we should Ask God, our Eternal Father, whether the information is true. However, we have to ask "with a sincere heart, with real intent" to be able to receive an answer. There must be a true desire to know if the Book of Mormon is true, or if God really did call a prophert or if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's church once again established on the earth. Then you must be willing to accpet and act upon the answer you get. I promise that GOd will not lead you to a false church and I know for myself after having followed the advice of Moroni, that the answer to all three of those question is YES!!! This is God's Church, He has Called Prophets again in our day and the Book of Mormon is true and it is the evidence that it is all true. Show more Show less
