Hi I'm Zach

I'm a cowboy, I go to college, I ride motocross, I am serving a mission in Nampa Idaho, and I am a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in central California where my family has a cattle ranch. This is where I learned to work hard, have fun, and be close to my family. I currently on leave from college in southern Utah where I am studying Agriculture Science. While on leave I am serving a 2 year full time prostelyting mission in the great Idaho Nampa Mission. I began my mission back in September 2012 in the Idaho Boise Mission but with all of the new work of the Lord I have the privilege to be a part of the mission split. Growing up I loved to go to rodeos and especially to race motorcycles. I raced for about 5 years during and right after highschool. It was not until I got to college that I decided to do something more than just go to school. So after the October 2011 General Conference Priesthood Session I decided that I needed to serve a mission. Life is not an easy thing, myself as many others have fallen off track but I know that through hard work and a steadfast faith in Christ we can all get back on the right track and be with him again.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I have a firm belief that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Jesus Christ's church restored onto the earth today in its fulness. I believe that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and that when read with the Bible uplift and edify the teachings in each. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and the President Thomas S. Monson is a prophet today. It was not easy for me to come to know these things. I myself just as Joseph Smith and every other member of the church had to pray and ask God if these teachings were true. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and I am thankful everyday for his everlasting Atonement and the ability that gives us to return to live with our Heavenly Father. This gospel means everything to me this is why I have devoted 2 years of my life to help other people find their own way into the gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through serving a full time mission through the church. On my mission I am able to serve people everyday in many different ways. We go out and find people to teach everyday and help them to learn and get to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I pray everyday, multiple times a day and study my scriptures every day. Scripture study is an extremely powerful tool today. The truths that are held in both the Bible and the Book of Mormon are everlasting and can help in everything that we do. Whether they are personal or outside issues the Gospel of Jesus Christ can and will help you. I have seen this help me many times through the trials in my life.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Not all Mormon's are required to serve missions. Prophets have that "every worthy and able young man should serve" as part of our priesthood duty. Woman do not hold this same responsibility but they are encouraged to go if they feel that is what they need to do with their life. Missions are a wonderful opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with countless people all around the world and is truly an opportunity of a lifetime. I love my mission and I would not trade it for anything. It is a moment in time that I know that everything that I am doing is to help someone else come unto the Jesus Christ and become closer to him. Show more Show less
