Hi I'm Jenni Black

I'm a maker of silly songs, an organizer, a mother, I love life and learning, and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I love to learn new things by reading about and then practicing them. Things like parenting (I'm a mother of 4 girls!), to healthy cooking, to expanding my perspective about myself and the world. I LOVE to create things out of duck tape and cardboard, material and a sewing machine, but my most favorite is coming up with stories, songs and coloring pictures with my girls! I've been a teacher in the public school system, and we're trying home school, which is working out! My husband and I enjoy playing games together and cooking together, but my most favorite thing is to laugh with him!!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the pattern he laid out is the way to live the most fulfilling and happy life. The gospel plan makes sense. And it is exhilarating to live by faith and praise God everyday for the opportunity!!

How I live my faith

I love to share my love of Jesus Christ with my family. Teaching my children values like gratefulness, honesty, faith, hope and charity are at the top of the list. Being a mother is the hardest things I've ever done, yet the best thing to grow as a person. Motherhoodsmanship is the best opportunity for me to live Christ's commandment to love God and love my fellow men. I also totally love working with my congregations youth group for dancing, drama and movie activities and in teaching religion during the week! I'm currently helping out in the meetinghouse library assisting teachers and families to use the resources available to teach Christ's gospel. It's lots of fun! The woman's group I'm a part of is a great way to get to know fantastic ladies who feel the same way I do about Jesus. It's so great to meet together to strengthen each others faith. My faith helps me live by loving and serving others!

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Jenni Black
Members of the Church want to allow their bodies to work properly in order to live long, happy, healthy and productive lives. The minimum requirement is to not purposefully put things into ourselves that will stop or slow this progress. Anything that does negative things and/or makes us slave to it is taking away our freedom of that healthy life. In addition to that, the added blessing of proper eating really fine tunes our amazing body! That's why we eat things like herbs (vegetables) fruits, grains and other things that come from the earth. Eating meat sparingly, as outlined in the scripture, is super helpful. When individuals heed this council, so many practical blessing occur. Diseases, cancers and other health problems are less likely show up in life. Members of the Church also want to feel the inspiration, guidance and comfort of the Holy Spirit in their lives. So avoiding the negatives and ingesting the positives brings spiritual blessings-too many to count. They are like hidden treasures for those who are brave enough to learn to live it. It's not that hard. I like to think of it as a spectrum. Where ever you are now, point yourself in the right direction and keep making progress. God is willing to help anyone who desires greater health. And prayer, asking, searching and living has brought me closer to Him as He teaches me how to care for my body! I feel the Word of Wisdom is AMAZING! Show more Show less
