Hi I'm Kori

I'm a caregiver, adventurer, and single mother.

About Me

I am a single mother. My little boy is 4 years old. Time flies when you are having fun. I have had so much happen the last five years. I was born and raised in Utah. I moved to Kentucky for a year and a half with my husband and his family. I worked 2 jobs because he was having a hard time finding one. Finally we decided to move back to Utah and take care of my grandparents. My grandma had Alzheimer's and my grandpa needed more support at home. My husband left after two months of being back in Utah. He told me that he wasn't sure if he loved me any more. In October of 2014 both of my grandparents died. I was able to stay in the house until my family sold it which was March of 2015. I had to start all over in another city. In May of that same year my divorce was finalized. Everything happens for a reason. I have learned so much from all the trials and challenges I have faced. My testimony only grows stronger. I know that I have many more challenges to face and many more heart aches coming my way. But I know without a shadow of a doubt that my Heavenly Father lives and loves me.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and I have always had a testimony of the gospel. My parents were divorced and both got remarried when I was ten. Since then I grew up in a mixed family. As my family grew to know each other I really began to rely on the Lord for strength and help to see the positive. Everyday I did my best my burdens were light and I felt peace. When I met my husband who was inactive I noticed a huge difference in my life. I wasn't relying on the Lord as much and I had a harder time making decisions especially the ones that would effect me long term. After I had my son I knew that I needed to change my life around and I started reading my scriptures and praying daily again. As I began making those good habits and being more faithful to the Lord I began to feel a peace again. I began to be more confident in my day to day life and making better decisions. I even went through the temple. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me. We were meant to come here and be like him and be perfected. God does not take our trials away. But because of the atonement I know that I going to be okay. We are free to make our own decisions and I know that when I make a mistake as long as I am willing to do what He asks of me He will help me get through it.

How I live my faith

I am not perfect and have made many mistakes and I have faced many heartaches because of those mistakes. Through God's grace and through the Atonement of Jesus Christ I keep going and I live the covenants that I have made with my Heavenly Father in the temple. I attend church weekly. I teach my son how to live the gospel by setting a good example and reading scriptures to him and praying with him daily. I also do my own personal reading and studying of the scriptures. I try and help everyone I meet and look for ways I can help someone on a daily basis. I also try and stay pretty close with my family because families are forever. I attend the temple regularly and I have the best time going with my family and friends.
