Hi I'm Emily Ann Egbert

I grew up in Las Vegas. I love to sing and dance. I'm a Mormon

About Me

My name is Emily and I am 19 years old. I am currently in college and am planning on studying nursing. I recently got accepted to the nursing program at my university and am excited to start the program! When I was growing up, I was a dancer. I did everything from ballet to jazz to hip hop and I absolutely loved it all. The biggest part of my life is my family. I love them with all of my heart.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I grew up in the Mormon, I have not always known that this church was true. I knew my parents and my siblings believed that it was, but I wanted to know for myself. Deciding to find out for myself was a difficult task because I had been so used to relying on my parents' testimonies. I began praying to know if it was true and i began attending my sabbath day mettings with an open heart. There was never a point where I all of a sudden knew that the church was true, but it was a slow and gradual increase of my testimony. I kept on praying and had faith that if God was real and I really was a daughter of His that He would let me know. If I really wanted to know and I knew that if I prayed to Him, He would answer me. Now that I think back to where I used to be in life, it is incredible to see the tender mercies that the Lord provided me with. He loves me so much and was always looking out for me in ways that I didn't even know. I can now say that I know my Savior lives. I know that He died for me and suffered for me in Gethsemane that I may be forgiven of everything and never be alone. I know that I am a daughter of God. He loves me more than I could ever comprehend. I know that if I pray to Him, He will answer my prayers. When I was searching to know if this church was true, He didn't answer me instantly, but He let me grow and learn, trusting that I would come unto Him. Because of Him and His son, Jesus Christ, I know that I will never be alone. They will always be there for me because they love me and want me to return to them. I love the Plan of Happiness that allows me to be with my loved ones after this life. I know that God loved us so much that he sent His prophets to us so that we may be guided and directed. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet of God on the Earth today. So if you ask me why I am a Mormon, I would say that it's because it brings me so much happiness and peace. I know my Savior loves me and what can be better than that?

How I live my faith

My favorite calling that I have ever had is being a visiting teacher. Being a visiting teacher allows me to personally visit a couple of the sisters and provide support, love, and spiritual messages. I love meeting with the girls is my ward and getting to know them on such a spiritual level. Last year I was assigned as a compassionate service leader. In this calling I was able to search out those in need and provide comfort and help in whatever they needed. Because of this calling that I had I learned how to look for those in need and it has helped me become a better friend. From looking at these two callings, one can tell that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Mormon church, knows that helping others is extremely important. If you look at the Savior's life on this Earth, He was constantly serving and healing those around Him. If we are true disciples of Christ we will follow Him and do what He has said and done.
