Hi I'm Jared

I was born in Idaho. I love to play sports. I am studying to become a physician assistant. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Having grown up in Idaho, I have a love of the outdoors. I love hiking, mountain biking, shooting, snowboarding, camping, rock climbing and snorkeling in the ocean. I enjoy playing basketball, rugby, and practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I am currently going to college for my masters in medical science and look forward to the day where I can practice medicine as a physician assistant.

Why I am a Mormon

Having been born in the church, I was raised being taught LDS principles. I have been living on my own now for about 7 years and the reason why I am still active in the church is because I have a testimony of the restoration of truth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I came to know this for myself because I have prayed and received an answer that the Book of Mormon is true scripture comparable to the Bible. One of my favorite scriptures is 1 Nephi 19:9, which is where an ancient Prophet named Nephi prophecies of the coming of Christ. It reads "And the world, because of their iniquity, shall judge him to be a thing of naught; wherefore they scourge him, and he suffereth it; and they smite him, and he suffereth it. Yea, they spit upon him, and he suffereth it, because of his loving kindness and his long-suffering towards the children of men." This scriptures portrays what Christ went through because of his love for us. I know he lives and suffered and died for us that we may repent and receive forgiveness of sins. I also know that the truths that he taught when he was on the earth have been restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. These truths have been testified to me from God by the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I am actively involved in church and I currently attend a small congregation. Since each congregation is run solely by it's volunteer members, I have many opportunities to serve. I am primarily involved in working with the missionaries and teaching people about Jesus Christ and the plan of happiness.
