Hi I'm Brandyn Pierce

I am a self-taught cook. I love to sing and perform on stage. I am an aspiring mechanical engineering student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've spent all my life living in Idaho. My grandfather taught music in public schools for 40 years and as a result I learned the power of music at a young age. Since then I could almost always be found in a rehearsal for a community or school musical, school choirs, as well as my own small singing groups. I love the a cappella style of singing and have recently started to arrange my own versions of well known religious songs. Music has become a foundation in my life and I have discovered the joy of sharing it with others, whether it's through simple things such as door to door caroling, or putting on small concerts in a living room. More recently, through a couple of my good friends, I have discovered a joy for cooking, especially when it comes to desserts. I have been known to make all sorts of homemade icecream, cakes, pastries, etc. I like to do the abnormal creations like giant cinnamon rolls or Reese's Peanut Butter cups or homemade churros the most. It's fun to be creative and especially to see how much others enjoy what you put a lot of effort into. It makes me feel so good when something turns out amazing and my family and friends love it. I hardly ever cook for my own benefit, but I will always cook for someone else. I love to read, watch movies, be with friends and family, rock out to music in my car, and just have fun. I'm serving a mission in Culiacán Mexico right now and I love to speak Spanish, but more importantly, I love sharing the gospel with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this church and like most teenagers I came to a point where I wanted to make my own decisions and no longer rely on my parents. At this time I really evaluated my life especially as it related to being a member of the LDS church and I came to the realization that I truly believed the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I knew then and I still know now that this church is true. That God loves his children so much that he prepared a way that all would have the opportunity to return to him after this mortal life; that way is through the Savior Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ died on the cross for me and my transgressions just as he did for everyone else. It is through His Atonement that we can all be forgiven of the sins that we have committed. This church has brought me so much joy through the dark times of my life. It has brought comfort with the knowledge that families are forever and can dwell together in our Heavenly Father's kingdom after this life, if we are righteous and continue to obey his commandments.

How I live my faith

For the past 6 years I have been a home teacher to various families in my ward. I would visit them in the homes every few weeks and talk with them about the gospel as well as their lives in general. However for the past 7 months I have had the opportunity to teach the 4 and 5 year old kids every Sunday. I had a lot of fun teaching them the gospel in its most basic form. It's true that the best way to learn something is to teach. I am about to leave on a mission to Mexico and I learned a lot from these kids while I was their teacher. I remember when I was their age and I was being taught about missionary work. I was so excited to serve a mission, and now that time has finally come for me.
