Hi I'm Megan

I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a mom, a wife, a former English teacher, a daughter, a sister, a reader of books, creator of culinary confections (at least I try), a dog-walker, song singer, piano player, quilter, and homemaker. And I'm a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My parents were converts, and they spent my formative years teaching me what they had come to discover was true. I had to gain my own testimony, though, in order to stay in His church. It didn't come in a dream, in an instant, or even over a few years. My testimony is a living progression, based on my knowledge and experience with God and His disciples. I know God loves us enough to keep talking to us through modern-day prophets, and that all of His children are precious in His sight. As I try to live according to His commandments, I learn more and more about our Father in Heaven, our God, every day. I trust in His word and in His Son, whom He gave to us because He loves us all. I'm a Mormon because I know this Jesus Christ's church on the earth today, and I always want to be a part of that.

How I live my faith

I get to work with the young women in my ward. I specifically teach the 14-15 year old girls, but I often get to work with all of the girls, ages 12-17. There is nothing more beautiful than the soul of a teenage girl, even though it can be hidden by sarcasm, eye-rolling, and emotional outbursts! I try to volunteer in the community, and to make friends with anyone I meet. I think that's what Jesus would have done; I don't think He would have avoided eye contact, much less conversation, with anyone He met. I love people, and I hope that it shows whenever I meet new people or greet old friends.
