Hi I'm Ken

I'm a happy Mormon who grew up in Bountiful, Utah and I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

About Me

I am a retired electrical engineer that spent 35 great years working at Utah Power and Light. I am now serving a mission for the Lord in beautiful Dunedin, New Zealand. I have a wonderful companion / wife that has stuck with me for 41 blissful years. We have 7 children who are all happily married in the temple and 30 grandchildren; all who are sealed to us for this life and for eternity. I love to water ski, hunt, see good shows, garden, serve the Lord, and be with my family. Life is good!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I have studied the doctrines and principles of this church and found them to be true and very helpful in guiding my life. They bring me joy and happiness and peace that I can find no were else. As a teenager I decided to find out for myself if God was really there and if this church was really true. As such, I read the Book of Mormon, attended my meetings, studied the gospel, and then knelt in prayer asking if the church was true. My answer came with a sweetness and warmth that made me know beyond any doubt that God was there, that He knew and cared for me, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was His church here upon the earth. What an incredible blessing that has been in my life as it has kept me from falling into many of Satan's traps resulting in the misery and heartache that comes from not following the commandments and guidelines that come from a loving Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. Knowing that God is there and that the atonement of His son is real and for all mankind has helped me work through some very difficult periods in my life such as when we lost our little girl at child birth. The atonement brought a peace in my life as I felt the Savior's loving arms wrap around me. Also knowing where she went, as revealed in the Plan of Salvation, was another big comfort that came to my wife and I. Truly I am blessed to be a member of Christ's church on earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others such as serving three missions; one in England for two years, one in Japan for two years, and now one in New Zealand for 18 months. I love helping others where there is a need such as snowblowing sidewalks and driveways for hours after it snows. I have served as a Bishop of our ward and find that all people have concerns and a need for the Savior. I have also found that people all over the world are wonderful and usually willing to help others as needed.
