Hi I'm Kristina

I am a junior in high school. I believe that anything is possible with faith in Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a junior in High School, and I have an affinity for science. I am involved in Science Olympiad, a national science competition. My life has been shaped through the Church, but the most life changing event I have ever experienced was Rachel's Challenge, a presentation that made me realize that I want to spend my life helping people by contributing to the already large pool of cancer research that has been done. I have two sisters, and I love my family very much.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family, and this has definitely influenced my decision to live the gospel, but I have found that the older I get, the more I know why I personally choose to live my standards. Being in High School can be challenging with all of the temptation and unclean things bombarding you from every direction. I have watched people I care deeply about stray from the path and become lost. I have watched them suffer, ignorantly claiming to be happier than they have ever been. It is heart-wrenching. I find comfort in the fact that I have this little beacon of light that I am tethered to that holds me in safety as the dangerous evil whirls around me. The knowledge that my Savior Jesus Christ is there watching me, empathizing with me, and rooting me on is what keeps me going. I can't imagine life without the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, and everyday I try my hardest to bring a little piece of the light to my friends and I try to show them that love and safety is always available, even in the darkest of times. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the one true Church. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins and that he knows and loves each and every one of us. I know that one day, the light will prevail over all and that good will triumph over evil once and for all. I testify this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

My favorite thing to do is service. It is so rewarding to be able to help others with things they could not do alone. In my youth group, we sometimes volunteer putting together food bags for local kids who may not have the opportunity to receive food over the weekend. I believe in leading by example and being the kind of person who everyone feels comfortable talking to. I want to change lives someday, and I know that through living my faith, that is possible for me.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Kristina
Service is blind. It knows no race, no religion, no political status, no age. Service in its purest and most Christ-like form is done for anybody by anybody. Everyone deserves a friend, a helper, a companion. As Mormons, and at least in my life, we try to emulate the perfect life of Christ who loved all and helped everyone who would come to Him. We help those close to us in our wards by assisting them in difficult or busy times, and this is rewarding and righteous, however, we believe greatly in serving everyone because everyone is a beloved child of God, and we all deserve love and kindness no matter who we are or where we come from.
