Hi I'm Elder Longwill

I'm a missionary in Upstate New York. I love the Winter, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I currently am a Missionary in Upstate New York. So far in my mission I have seen the blessing of the Lord that I cherish so much. I know that its those blessing that He gives me that keeps that motivation to keep building the kingdom of God here on the Earth today. I strive to be the best I can to keep receiving those blessing because I know that with out them I can't do what Heavenly Father wants me to do as a Missionary. I am all about having fun. I love to hang with my friends, go bowling, play ultimate frisbee, football, basketball, and I especially love to go skiing. I love to read my scriptures and other books that bring the inspiration of God into my life. The scriptures have brought me a long way and made me who I am today. Why not read God's words? He has given them to all his children to partake of to learn and to grow. I desire to serve with all my heart, might mind and strength with nothing wavering. I try to live the standards as best I can so I may become the Priesthood holder my Heavenly Father wants me to be. The Gospel is the reason I have chose to serve this mission and is the reason I have become the man I am.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family that had issues but with the Gospel of Jesus Christ we were able to overcome our trials through our faith. When I was about 11 we had a church leader come over and offer his helping hand to our family. As a result of that visit, we have been faithfully active as members of this Mormon church. As I grew into my teenage years I received an answer that this is the true church and came to realize that this Gospel and attending church was the right thing for not just me but everyone. The amazing influences and examples that I have had changed my life for the better and I thank my Heavenly Father for those people that made a difference in my life. I know that if I do the same things that these people did for me, I too can make a difference in someones life especially being on my mission. Reading the Bible and the Book of Mormon have brought light and inspiration into my life. It has helped me get through the trials of my life that I have had so many of. This Gospel I know in my heart is true and that by living it we can become closer to our Savior Jesus Christ and our Father in Heaven. I love to serve them both and with out that service, I deprive my self of the precious blessing Heavenly Father can't wait to give to me! I am a Mormon because its true and because without the truthfulness of the Gospel I would be lost.

How I live my faith

I love to go to church every Sunday, but hate missing Church. It brings a sickening feeling in to my week. I love the spirit that is felt when I attend church and do as the Lord commands of me. I currently serve my Savior by serving this mission in New York. Teaching is a great feeling to know that I am helping others learn the gospel and the teachings of it in the holy scriptures. I have never experienced the kind of happiness that you can find by serving my mission. To know that I am making a difference in someone's life brings the sweetest joy you can ever feel. I know I can change lives with the power of my Heavenly Father behind me. I love the gospel and I love Sunday's because of what we get to do there every week and the feelings I get are unexplainable. It helps me get a great kick start to my week and I wouldn't miss it for anything.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Elder Longwill
Mormon missionaries love to share a message about Gods love for all of his children. Also about Jesus Christ and his Atonement which he performed for us so that we can return to live with God again. They teach of how God has called a prophet of God to Earth to lead and guide us just as he did in days of old with Moses and Noah. He loves us so much so he gives us the guidance necessary to lead us back to Him. Mormon missionaries also talk about anything you have questions about. Their total goal is to help others come closer to Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Elder Longwill
Why don't Mormon Missionaries proselyte? If someone was handing out free Chevy Camaro's wouldnt you want everyone to know about it? Its the same thing with the happiness the Gospel brings to all those who accept it. I have cherished the Gospel so much that the one and only thing I want to do is give the Gospel to someone who can have the same happiness I have received. Plus it is a commandment from the Lord that his disciples should share the Gospel. If we love God then we should keep that commandment. Our Heavenly Father wants all his children to have the truth so its a pleasure to help our Father out in this aspect of his Gospel. Show more Show less
