Hi I'm Sam Evans

I grew up in Colorado and Illinois. I write books, do construction and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi I’m Sam Evans. My parents taught me to work, and that my education was what I made it. I’m an American; free by birth, with the awesome responsibility to stay that way. Like you, I am only limited by what I believe is possible. I believe we are like a book. Our lives are full of blank pages. What we write on them is up to each of us. And with God's help we can make the most of each page.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I'm a Mormon is clear to me now, but in the past it wasn't. I always tell people I'm a convert even though I have been a member my entire life. The reason I say this is because when I was fourteen I realized it had always been a sort of social group, but I wanted to know if I really believed it. I started reading the scriptures, and praying. I reasoned that just as Joseph Smith had done I could learn for myself if it was true. So I did what James 1:5 directed him to do and that was to ask of God. As I continued reading and praying I felt God's spirit again. I felt that I was beginning to gain a testimony of the truth. I know now that I am a Mormon because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Church of God restored in all of its fullness again to the earth.

How I live my faith

I enjoy working with the youth, especially with children. I teach twelve to fourteen year old kids in Sunday School every week. It's an amazing feeling to be able to testify of Christ to them every week and help them strengthen their own love and faith in Jesus Christ. In many ways I am only an instrument for the Holy Ghost to work through. Before we came to earth we were all children of God and dwelt in his presence. Jeremiah 1:5 testifies of this fact. Because of this, the truths contained in the Bible and Book of Mormon are familiar to us and the spirit confirms their divinity as the word of God. If you will read the Book of Mormon, the Spirit will testify of its truth to you because God works on an individual bases and he will make it known to you if you ask. I live my faith by sharing it, and I love those with whom I share it. I am currently serving a mission in the Colorado Springs, Colorado mission.
