Hi I'm Taylor

I'm from California, I like sports, music and fine dining, and I am a missionary in Washington D.C.

About Me

How's it going?? I am a Southern-Californian born and raised, on the playground is where I spent most of my days. I love playing the guitar and going to concerts and making sound effects in every activity I particpate in. I have always loved watching and playing sports. Golf, basketball, baseball, cricket, curling, you name it, I love it! I have grown up watching my boys in purple and gold...the Lakers! But I can't forget about the Angels, Trojans and don't forget the Buckaroos! My favorite athletes are definitely Kobe Bryant, Jon Yates, Matt Riggs (rhymes with fat pigs) and Sudsy Monchik-the 5-time world racquetball champion. That guy is incredible! I love meeting new people and learning different cultures and languages from around the world. I am currently serving as a missionary for the church in the Washington D.C. area and have had the blessing and opportunity of meeting people from hundreds of different countries! I love being a missionary because I get to see total people's lives change through acceptance of the one and only true gospel of Jesus Christ. What a blessing!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I not a Mormon?! It's awesome! It makes me happy. I am always surrounded by people who love me and will help me with anything. The principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ have a practical application. I can put Christ's teachings to use in my life to become all that God wants me to become! It's sweet!

How I live my faith

I love being a missionary for the church. Even when people don't take interest in what I teach, I know that I am doing the work of God! It is the same work that Jesus Christ and his apostles did. I love reading the scriptures. Growing up, I didn't study the word of God out of desire. I did it because I was supposed to or because my family was reading together, but as I have taken the time to truly understand the words of the prophets, I have increased my love and interest in what their words mean for me directly; the application to my life. I now love the Bible and the Book of Mormon because of their powerful testimonies of Jesus Christ and the spirit they bring into my life. My favorite books are probably the Gospel of John in the New Testament and Mosiah in the Book of Mormon. I love the stories of Paul, Peter, King Benjamin and who could forget...Matthias!

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

I think the most important thing in establishing a relationship with Heavenly Father is to be willing to do what he asks. God asks us to become "doers of the word, and not hearers only". If we are not willing to keep his commandments, then how can we expect to establish a strong relationship with him? As we follow the example of Peter and "forsake all and follow Him", we can trust that His presence in our lives will be more evident. Show more Show less
