Hi I'm Trent

I´m from San Francisco, CA and grew up in Northern Utah. I love music and languages. I´m a mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Western United States and loved the mix of cultures and arts that surrounded me. I especially love Latin American culture and food! I´m the oldest of three boys and our parents required us to learn musical instruments. Thanks to them I developed a talent for keyboard and percussion instruments. I also lived in the Netherlands and Belgium and was exposed to a wide variety of world cultures and peoples. I also love everything about food: cooking, eating, learning new cuisines, and especially talking about food. My favorite dishes come from the Cape Verdean Islands and Brazil.

Why I am a Mormon

Some years ago I decided that the best faith for me would be the place that made me the best person. I am a Mormon because I have never found anything better! I have plenty of shortcomings, but because of my faith, I´ve been able to grow stronger and be a better person. I owe everything that I am to Jesus Christ. Nowhere else in the world have I felt closer to him than when I attend this church and when I read in the Book of Mormon. That´s reason enough for me.

How I live my faith

For me, it all comes down to how you treat others. I know I´m not perfect, but my parents and my church have taught me how to treat other people like Jesus Christ would. This Book of Mormon scripture sums it up for me: "For how knoweth a man the master whom he has not served?" - Mosiah 5:13

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

Trent
I´d recommend the missionaries. It´s their job to give you accurate information as well as share their own experiences. The missionaries are fantastic! They can easily be found through either requesting a visit from them through mormon.org, or visiting a local church building (address and meeting time accessible through lds.org = resources = locations and schedules). What is being a Mormon like?

Trent
I´d say that it´s Christianity the way it´s meant to be. I have had a lot of encounters with friends and associates of other Christian faiths and I think that their churches and organizations do great things. I learn a lot from them. In no other church, however, have I been as uplifted and encouraged as in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Being a Mormon means a lifetime of learning and growth. We all do our part together in church - nobody gets paid to give talks or teach classes during our worship services. We help out because we love Jesus Christ and want to give back a little of what we´ve gotten. Show more Show less
