Hi I'm Amber

I'm a missionary serving in the Virginia Chesapeake Mission, I love life, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Life is never what we expect it to be is it? I look over the past few years and never would have guessed the Lord would send me on an 18 month mission to Virginia and North Carolina, and that I would make it back all in one piece! I wouldn't trade those challenging experiences and the growth for anything else in the world-- serving others, and showing my love for my Savior has impacted my destiny tremendously. I am blessed with an incredible family. I'm the oldest of 3 and grew up in a single parent home. I look up to each one of my family members as examples, and they have been my constant, and consistent best friends. There wouldn't be an "about me" without them! I am currently a student at Brigham Young University-Idaho studying clothing construction. I love learning from incredible teachers, and mentors. I love Virginia rainstorms, music, singing, reading, and learning. Having been a part time home-school-er, I recognize the great opportunity I have had to learn whatever I have been most interested to learn, and to grow to love using my talents, brain and having a purpose by focusing on learning new things. I love trampolines, running/walking outside, and spending time with people. I LOVE BEING A DISCIPLE OF JESUS CHRIST! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have lived it, and I know it, and I have grown to love it with my whole soul. I have read the Book of Mormon, and I believe it is true. I know that because the Book of Mormon is true, Joseph Smith was a prophet called directly by God to restore His church in these days. I have faith in Jesus Christ, and a knowledge because of that faith that he is MY Savior, My Redeemer, and MY friend as an individual. I know that through The Atonement of Jesus Christ I have the opportunity to choose the good things in life that will help me gain favor in the sight of my Heavenly Father, and when the time comes if I have lived according the the truths of the gospel I can return to live in Heaven with him, and with my family for eternity. I am a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ, I love Heavenly Father, I love my family, I love the restored gospel, and I know that these things are the only thing I feel are worth living for. I know there is a bigger plan for me then just a career, and that there is a life after death and a place that is worth living worthily for.

How I live my faith

Service, loving people, listening, working hard, and praying every day. I've grown to understand how important it is to let myself love people--even those who I don't know. I've learned that faith cannot be stagnant. It must be actively used "anxiously engaged in a good cause." So that's why I'm still here! That's why even when I have a hard day I wake up and try again for all the tomorrows. There is good in every day, and miracles have not ceased! There is something to learn from, and something to grow from in every challenge. We wouldn't be able to grow otherwise. I live my faith by trying to focus on the good, by trying to keep it focused on the things that matter most: Jesus Christ, my family, good things tomorrow, good things today, and all the second chances that I'm blessed with. Trying to be a little bit better each day. :)
