Hi I'm Morgan

I do archery, love the country setting and hanging with friends. I'm now studying marketing and management. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Morgan McNelly and I have a mom, dad, and one older sister. I am in college right now at IUS studying marketing and management. After my bachelors I plan on getting my MBA. I do archery with my dad and went hunting for the first time this year. I haven't killed a deer..yet! I love spending time with my parents, my sister is on a mission right now so it's just the three of us.One thing I have learned is that everything happens for a reason and that is one phrase I go by daily. I just know that the Lord has reasons behind everything he does so I have focused more and more on being patient with him and putting my trust in him that he knows what's best for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I guess some could say I am a Mormon because I was born into it,and you would be right. However, there comes a time when you are old enough to make decisions on your own and you learn what being a Mormon is all about. I have not always been the best Mormon girl and have had times when I wondered if what I was learning was really true. I don't think that I really listened to the spirit like I should until a about year ago. I never get up in church and bare my testimony because I worry about not saying the right thing, but one Sunday my heart was racing and I couldn't breathe. I knew this was the way the spirit was telling me to get up. Before I knew it, my legs were walking to the podium. I felt the spirit so strong that day and the testimony I bore I knew was the truthfulness of the gospel. Even after I sat down my heart was still pounding. Since then, my testimony of the gospel has been so strong I really just want to share it with everyone. For some reason it made me want to be a better person and better example to those around me. The power of prayer has also given me the answers I have needed and I have gotten answers that this is the true church. I have been so blessed with the people God has put in my life. I am no longer Mormon because it's what my parents are, but because it's what I want for myself and my future children.

How I live my faith

I have always been told that being a in your early adulthood, like I am, you make that decision in your life whether to keep following the path in the church, or you take another, more traveled road. Being in college I have seen it happen so many times people falling out of the church. I myself, decided that I know what is true and I know that I want to choose the "path less traveled by". I got a calling in the church as a ward missionary which has been the biggest blessing in my life so far. I love getting to work with the missionaries and share the gospel with others. One thing I really enjoy doing is sharing my beliefs and talking about religion. Being a ward missionary has changed my outlook on everything. It has strengthened my testimony greatly.I don't know that I will ever serve a mission an actual 18 month mission, but I know I am on a mission on earth without a name tag and I pray each day that I can change someone's life by bringing them into our church. It isn't always easy to be a Mormon, but I wouldn't trade my religion for anything.I feel good knowing that being a Mormon, and doing what the Lord wants, I will have an eternal family. I live my faith every day, not just on Sunday.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Morgan
The Holy Ghost gives us direction throughout our lives. It is sometimes called the "still small voice". It is the whisper we may hear at times when we are about to do something wrong, but will encourage us to always follow the path God has prepared for us, almost like a conscience. We can receive many blessings through the gift of the Holy Ghost, it helps you choose right from wrong and helps you understand the truth of the gospel, like it says in John 15:26 the Holy Ghost "shall testify of me". It can also help us make decisions throughout our lives, and be a guide through our lives in all things (John 16:13). The Holy Ghost is there always, especially in times of need. The Holy Ghost is a gift given to those who have been baptized into Christ's church. It is a constant companion and a privilege we can keep as long as we keep God's commandments and stay along the path of righteousness. The feeling of the Holy Ghost is a feeling most pleasant and peaceful. Show more Show less
