Hi I'm Alysha

I'm a business major at Brigham Young University. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am the second of five children all born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. I love everything about warm weather! Swimming, hiking, and laying around on the grass are some of my favorite things. I enjoy playing the violin, tinkling around on the piano, and listening to all genres of music from rock and rap to jazz and classical. I love having spontaneous dance parties and philosophical conversations with my amazing roommates. I am currently studying marketing management at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I hope to work for or create a non-profit micro-finance organization in the future and eventually start a family of my own.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I know he came to earth to atone for my sins. I know there is a God. He knows each and every one of His children personally- by name. I know Joseph Smith saw God, the Father, and His son, Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith restored the true gospel to the earth. I know the Book of Mormon is the most true book on earth, translated by a prophet of God. It contains another testament of Jesus Christ as he ministered to the people in the Americas. I know our current prophet Thomas S. Monson, speaks with authority from God and cannot lead us astray. My testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel is a light to me in a dark world. I have developed it through the righteous example of my parents who also accepted the truth and chose to teach their children in truth. I am the happiest I know I can be when I follow the example of Christ and actively participate in His church. I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel with all my heart. I strive to follow the standards of the church, to pray to my Father in heaven, and to allow the light of Christ shine through my countenance. I choose to dress modestly, refrain from alcohol, coffee, and drugs, and pay a full tithe because I know living righteously brings me the greatest happiness. I am preparing to serve a full-time mission in the Argentina, Resistencia mission. I know greater blessings than I have yet experienced will come to me as I share my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ with the beautiful people of Argentina. I know the gospel will improve their lives, no matter what situation they are in.
