Hi I'm Hailey

I'm a missionary, a former retail store manager, a seamstress, a sister, and a friend... And I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently serving a full time mission at Temple Square for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This was an unexpected opportunity due to the mission age change in October 2012 from 21 to 19 for females! There is a wonderful conference talk called "Good, Better, Best" that relates to my decision to serve a mission, and all 3 decisions came down to November 1, 2012. I had a good decision: to attend college. I had a better decision: to marry the love of my life in the temple. I had a best decision: to serve a mission for the Lord (then come back and do my better and best!). So far my mission has changed my life! Serving the Lord morning and night 7 days a week has been the most rewarding and joyful time of my life. If you are thinking about serving... I say GO FOR IT! There is so much joy that can be found by helping others discover, receive, and commit to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know God loved his children enough to call prophets to guide them in Biblical times, and I know he loves us the same. The gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored in its fullness by the Prophet Joseph Smith, and if you have a desire to know this for yourself, I invite you to read the Book of Mormon. It is the spiritual evidence that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever and loves all his children... including you and me!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are Mormon, their parents are Mormon, and my Grandparents parents are Mormon, so on and so forth. I have been born into a strong Mormon family, and was raised learning of the LDS church and the gospel. Eventhough my roots were planted, I had to decide for myself what I truly believed. I remember the Sunday when I was 12 that I felt the strongest assurance from the Holy Spirit that the Book of Mormon is true. Since that day, I have been striving to grow my testimony more and have the confidence to share it so that it may strengthen someone else's. We have such a wonderful posession in our lives, the love and guidance of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. They want the best for us and know our life's path, but they are waiting for us to make the right decisions so that our footsteps me be furthere guided in the right direction. They also want us to return to live with them, so God gave his only son to die for us on the cross, so that we may be given the Attonement to repent for our sins and return to dwell with our Heavenly Father in Heaven. No matter what wrongs you may have done, you will always have their love, and it's never too late to return back to following their footsteps.

How I live my faith

I often wonder what kind of person I would not be without this wonderful faith that has influenced my life for good since the day I was born. Currently, I am living my faith by devoting 18 months of my life to serve the Lord by sharing his gospel to any and all who will hear it. It is such a beautiful thing that brings such light and happiness into my life and those around me. If you are interested... as a missionary, they are pretty awesome (if I do say so myself!).

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is a strong belief or conviction of something. One may have a "testimony" about their favorite smart phone and the wonderful things is does for you and how it affects your life by keeping you connected, allowing you to search for anything at any moments, and contributes to your way of life. This is all true about what Mormons mean when they say they have a testimony, however, instead of being about tech specs, it's about their spiritual witness of the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. For example, I know that the LDS (or Mormon) church is true! The gospel of Jesus Christ that the LDS church is based off of affects every moment of my life. I know that prayer is a way that we can connect to our Heavenly Father about anyting we may need or to express thanks. We also have the Bible and the Book of Mormon, both true books of scripture that we can search through at any time to find needed answers and guidance. All in all, the LDS church and its teachings has contrubuted to my way of life and I wouldn't have it any other way! Show more Show less
