About Me

My family historically originated in Deer Isle Maine, 6 brothers and one sister emigrated from Scotland in the early 1700's. Until age 10 i lived in a small town (200 pop.) in northern Maine. the family relocated to Conn. were i attended elementary school and High school I enlisted in the USAF in 1958 and after 4 years of service relocated to southern California, met my sweetheart Lynn of 50 ys and raised a family of two boys two girls. experimented with several occupations and the last 25 years was employed by LAC/USC Medical Center as a Supervisor in the Hospital Maint. Department. Retired in 1998 and relocated to southwest Washington state. Enjoyed retirement on our beautiful 2 acres until recently relocating to Utah to be closer to the majority of our family.

Why I am a Mormon

When i became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) 43 years ago I had been an adherent to 3 other religious organizations and found many of my questions unanswered. my focus at that age was school, work and family. a school friend of my wife was a new member of the "Mormon" church and invited us to a church activity. i had never "met" a Mormon before and knew little about the religion. I thought they were similar to the Orthodox Mennonite, Amish, or Hassidic Jewish religions. After meeting many other church members at the church activity i realized my assessment of their religion was not true, Upon further investigation and study my wife and were baptized and confirmed members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, also known as the "Mormon" Church. The Prophet of the Restoration, Joseph Smith said " the object and design of mans existence is happiness and will be his reward if he follows the path that leads thereto" I can testify the such is the case in our lives. My membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has brought true happiness to me and my family. I know and can testify that the true gospel preached , taught, and disseminated throughout the world by the " Mormon" church is true, and has had a wonderful and life changing effect on me and my wife and our posterity. This is why i am a Mormon

How I live my faith

I live my faith by demonstrating by my interactions with friends, neighbors and indeed all those that i work with and meet on a daily basis, that i am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints and live by it's teachings and principles and work and live my life in a manner that emulates our Savior Jesus Christ's example to the best of my ability.
