Hi I'm McKinnin

I grew up in Mesquite, Nevada. Im a recent high school graduate waiting to go on his mission. Im a Mormon.

About Me

I am serving an amazing mission in Farmington New Mexico. It is the greatest thing in the world. The Navajio people are the best. Have been having a blast. Before the mission i was way into music and marching band. Once i am off my mission will be going into college. Still waiting to figure out what i want to go for. I love playing sports. Unltamet frisbee is my favorit sport. Find some good spots to play it up on the mesas in the four corners.

Why I am a Mormon

As i have said im a convert to the church so I had to come to it instead of being raised in it. I came to know the church through the helping hand of my best friend. A was in a low point in my life and my friend simply told me to pray. So i did and ever night and morning when i prayed. I so noticed my days becoming more clear and life getting lighter. I was then later invited to join a youth trip with the church. Around the end of this trip there was a question and answer and during it a heard a voice telling me to be baptized. Once home I found the missionary's in my area, toke the lessons, and was baptized. Ever since my life has been on a level of happiness that i did not know was there. I often think back before i was a member and wounder why it toke me so long to join before. I think about all the other chances i had to open my heart and listen and kick myself for not just taking the time to listen. I cant even understand how i managed with life without the guidance of The Father and Savior and Holy Ghost. I testify that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restored gospel on earth. This church is truthful in ever aspect. Wall the members may not always be perfect by any means, myself included, every thing that is taught in its gospel is perfect. The Savior did not send us her to by on are own and to figure it out with out him. He gave us this church and the testimony from prophets in both the Bible and The Book of Mormon. I testify that the Book of Mormon is a true work of The Father. If you just open your heart for a moment and read it your heart and soul will testify this to you as well. You just have to give it a chance and your life will change for an eternity.

How I live my faith

In my ward i am the secretary for my age group. I help keep a record of toughs who have been coming and who needs help along the way. I keep myself busy with church related classes in and out of church. I also try my best to expand my family history.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

McKinnin
We teach that Baptism is the first step we must take to come back to the kingdom of God. We believe though some one must be baptized by some one who holds the priesthood athority. Or in onther words has permission form God to Baptize When we are baptized a few things happen. One is that all of a persons past mistakes are gone. That person is washed clean of all there sins. Also we promise God to strive to live His commandments all of are lives. He then promises us to all ways be there for us. "I the Lord am bond when you do what i say, but when you do not what i say you have no promise" The Lord will be there for us but he expects us to do are part. I can promise baptism is the way and it is the start of a better life Show more Show less
