Hi I'm Christian Hernandez

I love my family, love my friends, love sports, most importantly I love my faith. And of course I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 22 years old and have been a member for about 11 years. People are always surprised when I tell them I am Mormon. Being a member has changed my life so much and am very grateful for that. I am the oldest of 4 siblings, I have a 19 year old brother who is serving a mission in Peru, a 14 year old sister and a 3 year old baby sister. I am glad to say that I have an amazing family and great friends. I don't think I would change anything that has happened. This step that my family and I took has been the greatest decision. Because of that I was able to serve a two year mission and help others come unto Christ. I proudly served in the Rancho Cucamonga, Calirornia mission. There has never been two of the hardest but yet happiest and rewarding years of my life, as those of my mission. Serving there also gave me the blessing of finding my beautiful wife whom I've been married to for almost 8 months. I'm proud to be a member, Gotta love the GOSPEL!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know and believe with all my heart that this gospel is true. I got baptized when I was 11. My family and I never really went to church. I knew my parents were Catholic but that's about it. The first time the missionaries knocked at our door was in California, but just a regular contact with the missionaries but my parents really paid no thought to it. Then we moved states and about a year after moved we got another knock from them, started hearing what they had to say and would join them at church. We got baptized a few months after and it was the best decision ever. I felt great being there and felt the love of others and the youth that was with me. I'm a Mormon because I know its the truth because I prayed about it. I know it has truly blessed my life and there is no other life I want to live.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by having served a mission. I loved preaching the gospel and helping others come unto Christ and by no means was I forced to do it. I knew I had to do it because it was through the efforts of missionaries that my family and I were baptized and I thank them very much for their sacrifice and efforts. I strive to be a good example, which of course I do falter at times, but I mean who doesn't?. I was also called to teach the young men from ages 14-18 a few months ago prior to going out on my mission and now have the opportunity to do it once again. I also participate in home-teaching where we go to visit families and see how they're doing and how we can help them. I love to play sports like I said and I played basketball for my church team against other kids my age and that was a really fun way of living my faith. Being surrounded with those that have a faith in Christ was a great blessing.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Christian Hernandez
The Mormon lifestyle is a great lifestyle to live. We read scriptures, pray, go to church and be with our friends and family. I know that Heavenly Father wants us to be together forever and that is the plan that my family and I have. We don't drink, smoke, say profanity or do any harm to other. We try and be good examples and preach the Gospel to our loved ones. If we truly feel Christ's love and feel joy we will want to spread it and help others feel the same, that is the reason why we talk to our friends and family about the Gospel. Our lifestyle is the lifestyle that I know God and his Son want us to have. Show more Show less
