Hi I'm Micah

My father was in the Army and I've lived all over the country

About Me

First and foremost, I'm a husband and a father. These two things bring me the greatest joys life has to offer. I love spending as much time as I can with my wife and baby boy. Professionally, I work as a project manager for a civil engineering firm specializing in geotechnical engineering. When I'm not working, I enjoy watching and playing all types of sports. Growing up, my father was in the US Army, so we moved around quite a bit. That helped me realize the importance of family and gave me the opportunity to meet many different types of people and see a lot of different places.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church with both of my parents being actively involved members. The many spiritual and faith building experiences I had as a youth growing up in the church helped me to know it is true. As I continue to strive to live the commandments and heed the counsel given to us by living prophets, the truthfulness of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is reaffirmed. Moving around a lot during my youth also helped me realize that regardless of where we lived, the Church was the same. Obviously the people in it were different, but their testimonies and the teachings of the gospel were the same. The Church has provided consistency and stability in my life amidst so much change.

How I live my faith

I work with the youth in my congregation, specifically the young men ages 12-18. I'm responsible for overseeing their lessons during our Sunday church meetings and planning activities for our weekly youth group meetings. I learn so much from the young men and I'm inspired by their commitment to their standards and moral values. They are a great example to me.
