Hi I'm Eliza Jane Griffiths

I'm happy and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was raised in Boise Idaho in a loving happy family. My dad is my hero and my mom is my best friend. I have three siblings and together, life is an adventure full of silliness and laughter. Growing up, I looked for every opportunity to perform whether it was singing, playing guitar or dancing. I found so much joy in working hard and developing the talents Heavenly Father has given me. People knew me as the girl that never stopped smiling. I was often asked, "How are you so happy all the time?" I have come to realize it is because I live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I continued my studies at Brigham Young University and with much prayer, I made the decision to serve a full-time mission to share the gospel. I am currently serving in Rancho Cucamonga California-Spanish speaking. I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth by a modern-day prophet and living this gospel has brought peace, joy, and direction to my life and has richly blessed my family.

Why I am a Mormon

When I choose to live my life for Jesus Christ, I find peace, purpose, and true happiness. Through the atonement of Christ, we can be changed through faith in His name. The changes we make every day to follow the will of our Heavenly Father ultimately change us into one who can dwell with God in a state of perfect happiness. I love my Savior and I want to become like Him. That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Having Faith in Christ means I can feel peace and see beauty in life even when it is not easy. Jesus Christ is my Savior and He gives me hope to endure faithfully as I embrace His help, healing and forgiveness. Faith is when I show Heavenly Father I trust Him by keeping His commandments, knowing that He has promised me blessings. Faith is confidence in a loving Father who knows what is best for His children. It is having the courage to drop my burdens at the feet of the Savior and stand firm in his love. I am excited for what lies ahead of me and I feel a sense of peace and confidence in the blessings the Lord has promised to all who dedicate their life to following the example of Jesus Christ. I promised I would always remember Him, take His name upon me and keep His commandments when I was baptized. It is a lifetime pursuit full of blessings to continue walking in His footsteps, those that lead to eternal life with our families in the presence of God. I plan to be married in the temple and raise a family of my own rooted firmly in the soil of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Eliza Jane Griffiths
The Word of Wisdom is God's health law for His children. It was a revelation given to Joseph Smith that explains God's will for our temporal welfare. It includes those things we should avoid to maintain the health of our bodies such as tobacco, coffee, tea, alcohol and harmful substances. It also outlines principles of good health such as regular exercise, adequate sleep and a nutritious diet including fruits, grains, and vegetables . When we take care of our body, our mind and our spirit can be healthy and strong, too. I love the Word of Wisdom because I have seen how living it's precepts have blessed my life and kept me from harm. I feel The Spirit with me when I choose to take good care of the body God has given me. Show more Show less
