Hi I'm Austin

Im from Boise, Idaho. I am a missionary. I love sports, the outdoors, my family and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Austin Rogers. I was born in Provo, Utah while my parents were going to BYU. We moved to Virginia when I was 3 and lived there for almost 7 years while my dad attended more school. When I was 9 we moved back to my parents home state of Idaho. I love to be active and outside. I enjoy wakeboarding, skiing, riding my ATVs and Side-by-Side, running marathons, playing sports, hunting, rock climbing, going to the gym and more. I am currently serving a 2 year mission in the Texas Houston South Mission. I love my life, my family, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all their lives. They raised me to be a member however, when I was about 14 I was at a point in my life where religion was just not important to me. As time went on I felt there was something more. I felt that there was a hole in my life and it needed to be filled. I realized that the only thing that could fill that hole was a relationship with my Heavenly Father and my Lord Jesus Christ. In doing so I gained a personal testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. My life was forever changed when I accepted the Savior in my heart. I am a Mormon because I firmly believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's kingdom on the earth. I love my family more then anything in this world and I know that it is Heavenly Father's plan that I can be with them for time and all eternity. Nothing is more important to me then that.

How I live my faith

Faith is a principle of action and obedience. A lesson I have learned is that the Gospel is not meant to be shaped according to our lives--Our lives are meant to be shaped according to the Gospel. I live my faith by doing all I can to represent my Redeemer, Jesus Christ. I strive to follow His example in all that I do. I will stand as His witness at all times, in all things, and in all places. Life is truly a time in which we are to learn and prepare ourselves to return to our Heavenly Father. Every day is an opportunity to grow and to deepen my faith. I do this by studying my scriptures, gospel doctrine, and the teaching of the Prophets and Apostles. I also pray fervently to my Eternal Father in Heaven seeking to obtain His will in all that I do.
