Hi I'm Missy

I'm a college student. I coach basketball. I play guitar. And i'm a Mormon (and I love it!)

About Me

Hi! My name is Merissa. I come from a big family (7 kids). I'm a college student studying FCHD, double minoring in Spanish and Communications. I always believed that God loved me and that Jesus Christ was someone important, but it wasn't until I read the Book of Mormon that I truly understood the depth of compassion our Heavenly Father has on us.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because i've prayed to God and asked if the things the church teaches are true, and because of His grace, I have received a personal witness that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is indeed his true church on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I just got home from a full-time mission in Paraguay, and it was the craziest, hardest, most rewarding experience of my life! I spent all of my time and efforts teaching people about the plan that our loving Heavenly Father has for us, that we can find peace through our Savior, Jesus Christ, and that the fulness of His gospel has been restored through a modern-day prophet. In Spanish!

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Missy
The bible chronicles events, surroundings, prophecies, and revelations concerning Jesus Christ, the son of God. Mormons, otherwise known as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, believe and have faith in Christ. So it follows that we would want to read and learn about Him, and the Bible is a great way to do that. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Missy
Contrary to popular belief, no, we do not. The same way that the Children of Israel in the bible did not "worship" Moses, but instead looked to him as their leader and a man who could communicate with God. We believe that Joseph Smith was a servant called by our loving Heavenly Father to be His prophet in modern days. But worship and adoration are saved for God our Eternal Father and his son, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
