Hi I'm Madison

I'm a daughter, sister, college student/ cross country athlete, and a missionary in the Illinois, Nauvoo Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving in the Illinois Nauvoo Mission in the Visitors' Center and historic sites. I served 6 months of my mission from October to the beginning of April in the Michigan Lansing Mission as a proselyting missionary, and am now back in Nauvoo until August when I will return home. I have a profound love of the Gospel and desire to share it with everyone I meet. My mission is the greatest decision I have ever made. I am also a college student and will be finishing school after my mission. I am an avid runner and have had the opportunity to run a marathon and participate in Cross Country on a collegiate level. I have a great passion for music and I love to play the piano and sing. I love the outdoors and doing things in nature (hiking, fly fishing, sports, etc.) I am the oldest of four children and my family means everything to me.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Latter-day Saint is not just a religion to me, it is a lifestyle. I can become who I want to be because of this faith. I am a Mormon because of the hope it gives me that I can have eternal life. I am a Mormon because I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and knows me individually and uniquely. I am a Mormon because I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ that is preached in this Church is the only way back to the presence of our Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon because only through the Priesthood authority found in this Church can I be baptized and sealed to my family for eternity. I am a Mormon because I'm imperfect and I can truly be forgiven of my sins because of the knowledge that I have of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a Prophet. I'm a Mormon because it is the true Church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am serving a full-time mission for 18 months in the Illinois Nauvoo Mission. I serve in the historic sites and in the Visitors' Center in Nauvoo. I also get to serve at the Carthage Jail and Visitors' Center in Carthage, Illinois. I share the message of the restored gospel and the history of the early Latter-day Saints who lived here in this area by giving tours and teaching people over the phone and online. For 6 months during the winter, I had the opportunity to go to the Michigan Lansing Mission to proselyte and share the message with the people of Michigan. I am now back in Nauvoo and will finish my mission in August of 2014. My missionary service will not end once I am released as a full-time missionary, however. I intend to follow the example of our Savior, Jesus Christ by sharing my testimony of the gospel and serving people in the way He would for the rest of my life. I will continue to live my faith through faithful church attendance and magnifying my callings in the Church. I will always have my missionary badge on my heart.
