Hi I'm Gentri Kartchner

Hi I'm Gentri. I grew up in Utah. I love traveling, and meeting new people. I enjoy life! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is Gentri Kartchner. I am 21 years old. I recently returned from the Washington Tacoma and Federal Way Missions in June 23, 2014. I loved Washington, it is really pretty! I am currently going to BYU Idaho for school. I enjoy meeting new people, travelling, and seeing new things. It's the little things in life that make me happy, just as simple as a bike ride with my family. Along with traveling and meeting people, I love to play sports. My favorite sport is basketball. I like to play games, and be with the people that I love. I love to laugh and make people laugh! I enjoy life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because this faith gives me hope and happiness in a world of darkness. When I feel alone and rejected from everyone else, I know I can turn to a loving Heavenly Father who is there for me. I know that He loves me, and I can ask Him for help and He will guide me. When a family member has died, I don't mourn with the world because I know that through the Plan of Salvation, the Plan of Happiness, I am able to see them again. When I am sad, or going through hard times, I don't have to turn to the world for things like alcohol, or other addictions to try and make myself happy for the time being. I can turn to the atonement of Jesus Christ. The atonement is there for me not only so that I can repent of my sins, but because Christ died for us, He knows all of our pains, and afflictions. He knows how we feel, and through the atonement I know that Christ knows how I feel. I can turn to the atonement for peace. I am a Mormon because this faith gives me peace and true joy that the world doesn't.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is by being an example of Christ. I try to show love and kindness to everyone that I meet. I give people respect. I listen with love and show that I care. I try and help in times of need. I don't judge people because I don't know their situation. I don't know what challenges they have had in life. I see them how our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ, sees them. By doing this, I represent Christ. Christ was the great example of friendship. He cared for His people, healed them and helped them in the times of need.
