Hi I'm Miranda

I grew up on a farm. I'm working my way through college. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've always known an education is important, and I have a passion for learning. I'm currently paying my own way through university, and I love taking classes and learning. I love gardening.I think Indian food is the best food on the planet. Going for hikes and walks are some of my favorite things. I grew up on the East Coast and go to school in the West (at BYU....go Cougars!). Recently, I served a mission for our church in England. If I could wake up and do anything tomorrow, I would go hiking in Brecon Beacons in Wales. Every thing I love and am trying to become is centered in my faith. I LOVE the gospel, and as I come to understand it more and more through my study of the scriptures, it changes me. I brings me hope, even in the middle of hard times. My faith in God is what makes everything else makes sense. I have had experiences that help me to know without a doubt that He is REAL. He cares. And that makes a world of difference.

Why I am a Mormon

Forty years ago, my grandparents and father were baptized. They were already Christian, but my grandpa couldn't find a church that taught the doctrines he understood from the Bible, or his personal experiences with God. I am so grateful for that courageous step he took in contacting a friend that was LDS and asking to know more. For me, it was easier than that to learn about the gospel. I've grown up with it since was a child. But I wanted to know for myself if it was true. So I began reading the Book of Mormon on my own. I wondered and learned. As I prayed, I felt confidence that what this is true. Now, I continue to live the gospel because I know that Christ is my Savior and the Atonement is real. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith. I know that God again speaks through prophets, just like He has always done when He has children willing to listen! The Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that because of two promises: Moroni 10:4-5 says to read it, and ask God if it is true. I have done that, and received an answer. John 7:17: As I have lived the principles I have learned, I have felt blessings that I know are from God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in small ways everyday. I pray, and study my scriptures to come to know God better. Every day that I immerse myself in them, I find guidance, comfort, and counsel. When I do that, I want to do and become better. I want to look beyond myself. I want to live fully, and find joy in the small things. Anatomy is one of my greatest passions. The more I study and learn about the human body, the more I am amazed by it. I believe that by learning and trying to understand His creations, I can come closer to God.
