Hi I'm Spencer Leyba

I'm a die hard football fanatic, I'm a farmer, I love the outdoors, I'm an LDS missionary in Vancouver Canada, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a die-hard football fan. I am an avid Oakland Raiders fan. I know say what you will. I grew up farming and working hard on a vegetable farm. My dad since I was very little has distilled hard work in me. I guess you could say that hard work is my middle name. :) I've always loved being outdoors. I love history, mainly World War 1 to the present time. Really anything that involves war. It's not because it’s all blood and carnage. But rather I enjoy studying the political side of the war as well. I like to know what happened during the war, why it was fought, who fought who, circumstances, etc. However I do know my history, even if it is not evolved around war. I love to be with my family and friends, and try to help where I can. When I start my schooling, I want to go to school and become a sports agent! I was raised a member of the church, however in my teen age years i became a rebellious little child. I was physically active in the church, but I did not believe what I was being taught every Sunday. I had an experience when i was 19 years old. I was in a pitfall in my life where I needed God most in my life and after some time on my knees. I found him! I knew that he was real! And I know it! I felt the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I have come to know this even more so on my mission. That God is there, he loves me, he knows me, and he can help me. I don't ever plan on leaving this church because I know it is so true!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. we believe that God has a love for all of man kind, and he has called a living day prophet to the earth today, who watches over Gods kingdom here on the earth. The blessings of having a living day prophet on the earth today are very real. This has given me more peace of mind and comfort. I'm Mormon because I love family. Growing up with my younger brother we have built this amazing bond. We are the best of friends! My parents always taught us that when they pass on all we have is each other, and that we should love and serve each other in our family. There is a true peace to know you can be with your family for not just time, but for all eternity and I love that! You too can know for yourself. I too look forward to having a family of my own one day. I know that I will be fulfilling Gods purpose. I love what I have learned on my mission and in the church on how a husband should treat his spouse. I believe women deserve the utmost respect. When I find my eternal companion, the greatest girl on earth, I plan on cherishing her, loving her, respecting her, and I always plan on being next to her to comfort her when in need. I plan on putting her needs before my own. I have learned this and many more important truths on the nature of family on my mission and by being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know my family is an Eternal Family!

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is really doing the best that I can to others. Jesus Christ went out his whole ministry and life doing good to others and exercising the utmost charity towards others, even if he did not know them. I am working hard to do the best that I can. But then again I am not perfect. That is where our saviour Jesus Christ steps in and perfects us through his Atonement. I am always looking for ways to improve. I enjoy doing service for others as well. It does something to the soul! "Whenever you are in the service of your fellow man, you are only in the service of your God." Service just feels good. I work hard to set an example for others. It is by setting a good example, serving others, forgiving everyone and being a good citizen of the State/Province and Country in which we live that sets us apart from everyone else; the Bible mentions it as a peculiar people.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Spencer Leyba
the best way to know that the church of jesus christ of latter day saints is the lords kingdom here on earth today, is to do as prophets and apostles have diriected. and that is ask of god. do as james directs. James 1:5 John 14:26 and also read the book of mormon. to find something is true, you have to go to the source. read the book of mormon, with a DESIRE to know that it is true. and pray and ask got. then take moroni promise, and put it to the test. (moroni 10:3-5) plant a seed in your heart, and let it sprout into ever lasting life! (Alma 32) and listen to the feeling of your heart and mind. Show more Show less
