Hi I'm Lindsey

I grew up in Utah, Washington, and Georgia. I aspire to be an elementary school teacher. I love service. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old, I love life, friends, family, and eating food! I have the amazing support of my two parents, my younger brother, and two younger sisters. I love my sweet little cousins and cannot get enough of them and their love. I collect movies, and I am up to 72. I definitely have the travel bug, and love to take vacations whenever possible. I am obsessed with the country lifestyle, and hope to live in a small town when I'm married and done with school. I love working and earning my own money, and hope to be a counselor over kids ages 12-18. They have such happy and sweet spirits and I would love to teach them and more importantly, to be a good influence in their lives. I love the gospel, it makes me so excited and happy!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the church I belong to brings me happiness. The light and the love I feel when I feel the Spirit is undeniable, and I know for a fact Heavenly Father loves me and will direct my life in a way that will benefit me most. I know that my brother, Jesus Christ, loves me and died for me and every single person on this earth to bear our burdens, trials, and shortcomings. I am a Mormon because of the Book of Mormon. Joseph Smith translated it, and it has directed my life, and has given me answers that I needed in hard times. I know that the Book of Mormon is direct revelation from my Father in Heaven. He hears and answers my prayers through the scriptures, and I don't know where I'd be without that amazing book by my side. I am a Mormon because of the valuable things I learned through trials. Our trials are so individualized, and I know that they are ultimately a good thing because of the growth I've achieved through turning to my Savior for help in rough times. I am a Mormon because of faith. I cannot see the church, I cannot see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, I wasn't present during Joseph Smith's first vision, I haven't seen angels or visions in my life. Because of faith, I know that all those things are true. I know that because of the Holy Ghost, or the Spirit I feel when I'm doing the right thing. I am so grateful for the tender mercies of the Lord. He is watching out for me, and everyone around me. That is why I am a Mormon. I say these things in the name of my Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

A year and a half ago when I was 17, I was president of a youth group of girls ages 16-18. I loved planning weekly activities, getting to know girls, and going to annual girls camps where we could feel The Spirit somewhere without electronics or worldly distractions. Right now, I am a missionary in my Single's Ward (a ward for single's ages 18-29). I go to houses of people to see how they are doing, I invite others to activities like Family Home Evening, and help people come to church on Sunday. I love church callings because it unites members, and is what helps the church grow. I believe strongly in being a member missionary. I love giving anonymous notes, or treats to others in need so that they know they are loved and cared for. I care deeply for others and I love being there for someone who needs to talk or needs a friend. I also enjoy pointing out tender mercies that happen throughout my day, and verbalize it often to whoever is around me. By putting Christ in the center of my life, I find my day is full of faith and trust in my Savior and Heavenly Father to guide me through every aspect of my life!
