Hi I'm Melodie

I am a musician and high school teacher. I love to cook and ride my bike. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Colorado, went to college in Utah, and currently live in Virginia with my husband. I have the best job in the world - teaching high school choir. I'm almost finished with my Master's degree in Choral Conducting. I love to sing, read, cook and go on bike rides with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon and know that it is true. I believe that God speaks to prophets today, just like he did in ancient times, and that he restored his gospel to the earth through Joseph Smith, the first modern prophet in this era. I believe that Christ is my Savior and in the power of his Atonement which offers forgiveness, healing, and peace. Being a Mormon - knowing and living the principles of Christ's gospel restored to the earth in these modern times - brings me peace, hope, and joy.

How I live my faith

When I got baptized, I made a covenant with God that I would try to live a Christlike life. I do my best to respond to situations and people around me in the way Christ would by being a giving and forgiving person. In my local congregation, I have the opportunity to lead the church choir as well as teach Sunday school classes to the middle-school and high-school aged girls. These assignments allow me to study and apply the teachings of the gospel in my own life as I prepare to share them with those I lead and teach.
