Hi I'm Kathy

I grew up in California, with no religion in my life. Bexcoming a mormon has made all the difference!

About Me

I have made a career out of being a wife and a mother, and nothing else could have been so rewarding. I have 5 married children and 15 grandchilden. I love to work out in the yard, bake, read, and work on my family history. Of course nothing beats spending time with my family! I try to go for walks as often as possible (when the weather permits!) and love nature. My husband & I have a large koi pond, and we raise and show birds, English Budgerigars. It is great to have hobbies that we can share!

Why I am a Mormon

There came a time in my life when I felt something was missing. I longed for something but didn't know what. When I met my husband, I was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Over time, I began to see what I had been missing my whole life. A whole new dimension was opened up as I learned about where I came from, my purpose on earth, and the truths of eternity. As I developed more faith and began living the teaching of Jesus Christ, I felt joy and peace of mind. My life had meaning! I had opportunites to serve others and learn about God's plan for me. The emptiness I once felt was filled to the brim! I feel the love of God and Jesus Christ in my life each day, as well as the comfort of the Holy Ghost. I know I can be forgiven of my sins, which gives me hope. I am happy and content. I have a beautiful family who all share in thishappiness. I know we will be together forever!

How I live my faith

I always start out my day with ernest prayer to my Heavenly Father. I read scriptures or from the church magazines every morning. I have faith that God will hear my prayers and help me as I try to better myself each day. I make an effort to follow promptings given by the Holy Ghost to make good decisions, and to help others around me. I don't always succeed; I do repent daily in prayer and try to improve. I make an effort to be an example to my children and grandchildren, and try to be in tune with their needs. None of them live nearby, so I am grateful for iphones, skype, and emails! My husband and I serve at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah. We do our best to use our experience and testimony to teach, train, and encourage the Missionaries as they prepare to go out into the world to preach the gospel. We attend every Tuesday and Thursday nights as well as all day Sunday. It gives me hope for the future to see the values they uphold as well as their moral courage and faith.
