Hi I'm Christopher K Cox

I am from West Valley City, Utah. I love to ballroom dance and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary and I love to ballroom dance, play the cello, play volleyball, and sing. I really enjoy spending time with my family. I am serving in the Ohio Columbus Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, but never gave much thought to what that meant. I went to church on Sunday, learned God's commandments, and was taught scripture stories. I didn't think about what those things were supposed to mean or what they could mean to me. As I became a teenager I kept going to church because that is what I had done for the entirety of my life, but I did not have much interest in what happened there. As I got a little older I felt like something was missing from my life. I started to pay attention to what happened at Church and the doctrines and principles the scriptures teach. These things have helped me really be converted for myself and I have been able to develop a greater relationship with my family and God.

How I live my faith

I strive daily to be obedient to God's commandment by having personal prayer and scripture study. I try to be Christ-like in all that I do. I am currently serving as a full-time missionary in Ohio. This is an opportunity to share what I believe and to invite everyone to come closer to Christ.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Christopher K Cox
The Church is called the Mormon Church because it was used as a kind of slang when the church first came to be. After that it just stuck, and it is sometimes the only name that people hear when it it referred to so they know no better. Also it is sometimes easier to say Mormon Church than The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Show more Show less

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Christopher K Cox
For me personally, the Holy Ghost has mostly blessed me with knowledge. This may seem lame and uninteresting, but this has helped me to help other people become more active in doing school work and be nominated for school awards. My school grades are a black and white difference from when I was not being faithful and now when I am. The Holy Ghost also helps to guide me to choose the right in all that I do. I have found that this is especially true when I am seeking to serve others. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

Christopher K Cox
We should have faith in Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. It is these two beings that have given us the opportunity to come earth and to be saved in the eternities. Having faith is not a passive thing. It is a constant reformation that you believe, trust, and want to serve God. Faith is not without its consequences. Our faith is challenged by Satan and the natural man constantly, but as you retain your faith God will bless and lift you. Show more Show less
