Hi I'm Cassi

I'm an outdoor enthusiast. I'm a peace seeker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a very active family. Growing up consisted having my hair in an eternal ponytail while playing any and every kind of sport. It wasn't until much later that my interests shifted largely to outdoor recreation. My family always made time for the outdoors, but just recently it has become a part of who I am personally. There's something awe-inspiring about standing atop a mountain and looking at the scenery below. I feel both fulfilled with what I have accomplished and humbled to recognize the grandeur of nature.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of those confirmations I receive from God. He has helped me know that the commandments and teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ are for my benefit. I am at peace when I live according to those teachings. I am at peace knowing that my family relationships can last after this life. I am at peace in my trials because I know God is aware of my situation. I am at peace because I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have found that my faith has grown the most in moments when I can meditate on God's love. Whether it's while I'm surrounded by changing leaves in the mountains or at Church meetings, those seemingly insignificant moments confirm that God loves me and Jesus Christ lived a perfect life in order to help me with my imperfections. It's hard to make time for quiet contemplation, especially with work, school, and social media to distract me. However, those instances mean more to me in the long run than any homework assignment or post on Facebook. I have discovered answers to prayers in those moments, such as the affirmation I received to serve a mission in Chile or marry my sweetheart.
