Hi I'm Heather

I grew up in many different areas throughout the USA. I create stained glass windows. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up I lived in many different places throughout the United States of America. My clearest memories from the younger years of my childhood are beginning soccer - which I have since played for thirteen years – and participating in Taekwondo, achieving my black belt before moving. In the next state I lived I learned horseback riding and cared for a horse, Tony, that my family co-owned with some close friends we made there. After that we moved again and I learned how to create stained glass windows, participated in track and field for five years (I was a shot put and discus thrower), and achieved a lifelong desire to own goats. I have had the blessing to be home schooled my whole life by my wonderful mother, this allowed me to begin college early so I was able to get a head start and was therefore younger than most of my classmates. From the age of four I have loved Star Wars, specifically Darth Vader; goats; and Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who were already members of the church, but this is not why I am a member. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know that it is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Growing up I knew that I always had a choice and I never desired to leave the church. I understand the gospel with my heart, with my mind, and with my soul and throughout my life I have received reassurance of it's truth; even as a child I could feel the spirit telling me that I was where I needed to be. I know that my Heavenly Father has a plan for me. I know that He and Christ created this Earth for the glorious purpose of helping mankind grow spiritually and physically so that we can return to Him and partake of the blessings awaiting us. I know that Jesus Christ is my Elder Brother and that He came to redeem the world; to take upon Him all sins, all pain, all physical suffering, and all mental agony so that everyone would be able to be cleansed. I know that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore His church and that he was the first prophet in these modern days. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon through the power of God and that the Book of Mormon is a true record written to bring people to a greater understanding of Christ and to help them grow closer to their Heavenly Father. I have received a testament of all that I have written and more, a knowledge that I could never deny, and I bear witness to you that these things are true.

How I live my faith

While growing up I was able to participate at church by serving as a member of the youth leadership over each different age group in the Young Women's program, after leaving Young Women's I was asked to serve by teaching the five to six year old children in my congregation. Another way I live my faith is through being an example to those around me and helping them to understand more about my religion, long bus rides coming home from sporting events were made short by talking about my beliefs and listening to the views of others.
