Hi I'm Hannah

I'm a Utah girl through and through. Middle child. Amateur poet. Otter Pop obsessed. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm twenty-one years old, the middle child in a family of seven. I've spent the last few years studying English with an emphasis in creative writing. I consume post-apocalyptic fiction. I scribble down a few poems here and there. I spent a summer walking the streets of London and swimming the shores of Spain. But my favorite place in the entire world is my home town where all my favorite people are. I've just been called to serve a mission in Central America, and I have a feeling Guatemala will soon be number one in my heart.

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ brings so much hope and brightness into the dark world we live in. I know with all my heart that we have a loving Heavenly Father. I know this, because in the dark times of my life I've been watched over, taken care of and blessed beyond comprehension. Also, His love is evident in fact that he sent his Son to die for us. The knowledge of the Atonement of Jesus Christ brings peace into my heart, mind, and conscience. I can be forgiven for mistakes I've made and any pain can be healed. His hand is always outstretched towards us. All we have to do is take hold.

How I live my faith

All my life I've tried to live with a heart full of charity. I've always done my best to serve others around me as the Savior did in his life. I use my talent of observation to look out for others. I've been always drawn to the underdog and try my best to lift and encourage. And as Jesus has commanded, I try my very best to love one another, because that's what it is all about.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

It has been said by President Monson, "We affirm that missionary work is a priesthood duty—and we encourage all young men who are worthy and who are physically able and mentally capable to respond to the call to serve. Many young women also serve, but they are not under the same mandate to serve as are the young men. We assure the young sisters of the Church, however, that they make a valuable contribution as missionaries, and we welcome their service." And I think he said it perfectly. Show more Show less
