Hi I'm Sarah Stewart

I'm a California girl. I love being outside and playing sports. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Being outside is my favorite! I love everything about it, except snakes and bugs. There is something about the outdoors that beings peace to my soul. I love doing anything outside and playing ANY kind of sport although I am no superstar at any specific one. I am studying Biochemistry at Brigham Young University and have the dream of helping cure diabetes. I grew up in a small town with a 4-way stop sign and have worked really hard to get where I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because Christ and His teachings has brought me so much happiness. As I have grown up and learned more and more about the church, my faith in God and Jesus Christ has grown. I know that they know us personally and love us so much. They have provided us with their teachings so that we can know our purpose in this world and ultimately know how we can return and live with them again. My testimony of this has helped me through some of the hardest struggles and challenges I have ever faced. I know if we let God help us, He will. God loves us and wants us to be happy today, tomorrow, and forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the best that I can every single day. None of us are perfect, but we can do our very best and leave the rest to God. I know that He has a plan and as we put our faith in Him, miracles can happen. Its start with doing the simple things: reading the scriptures, praying, and going to church. As I do these things, my faith in God grows. As that faith grows, I make changes that bring my life closer to what He wants for me. These changes allow me to promise God that I will follow Him and keep His commandments. When we are obedient to God's commands, He blesses us! My faith is encompassed by following God and keeping His commandments.

In whom should we have faith?

Sarah Stewart
Our faith should be in Jesus Christ. He is our Savior - he has literally saved us from the effects of sin - and as we trust Him, have confidence in Him, and strive to align our will with God's will, we will be blessed to have a stronger relationship with Him, and learn more about what He taught. Why did your church previously practice plural marriage (polygamy)?

Sarah Stewart
Commandments from God are here to help us increase our faith in Jesus Christ and His gospel. They are here for us to show obedience to God's commandments and allow us to align our will with His. The early members of the church practiced plural marriage for various reasons, but the principle behind it was that God asked these people to keep this commandment, and they obeyed. Obedience is key with all the commandments. We may not know why we are asked to live a certain commandment, but He has a plan. When God asks us to do something, we should obey. He has blessings waiting for those who are obedient to what He says. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Sarah Stewart
Our purpose in life is to prepare to return back to live with God and Jesus Christ. We started before we came to this earth in the presence of God, and we chose to come here and prove ourselves - we wanted to show God that we would keep the commandments that He has given us and learn more about how we can become like Him.
