Hi I'm Zack

I grew up in Leeds, England. I like to go Rock Climbing and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am huge patriot, and love my heritage. I was born in Cornwall, but I am truly a Yorkshireman, (it being part of my Heritage), with a wee bit of Scottish blood mixed in there. I enjoy learning about my British history, and being part of it. I enjoy to go Climbing with my friends, and I love Maths and hope to go into Maths later as part of my career. I am currently serving a mission in Greece and Cyprus, (while having very interesting plane flights). I enjoy speaking Greek as much as I can. Αγαπάω να έχω πλάκα στα Ελληνικά, γειά σου Μπερνσκόνι μου.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and I'm a 4th generation member (my great grandparents joined the church). I continue to live the gospel as I have personally gained witness of its truth. I have received many great blessings from living the gospel continuously and from serving others, and this has strengthened my testimony greatly. I love being in the Church, and it brings me great JOY to my life (putting Jesus first, Others next, and You last brings great Joy to your lives).

How I live my faith

I grew up in the church. I enjoy spending time with my family visiting places around Britain. I am currently serving in the Greece Athens Mission, which I am doing for 2 years. I do it so I can share the Gospel with others and also so that I can grow and improve spiritually. I try to study the scriptures as much as I can, I enjoy learning more of the Gospel and love to increase my understanding through the Spirit.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Zack
Baptism is essential for all, as the Saviour said in Matthew 3:14-15: "But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him." And in The book of Mormon in 2 Nephi 31:5: "And now, if the Lamb of God, he being holy, should have need to be baptized by water, to fulfil all righteousness, O then, how much more need have we, being unholy, to be baptized, yea, even by water!" If it is a commandment for use to be Baptised, then how are those who have died and never had the chance to be? Are they unable to be Baprised? This is not the case, they did baptisms for the dead in the Apostle Paul's time, and it has been restored in the latter days, now for us. Not everyone has had an opportunity to be Baptised, and God has prepared a way for all of us to return to him and receive the blessings from it. Baptisms for the dead are performed by proxy in Temples - which are holy houses of God. We are able to do this because of the great family history being done. I have personally been blessed to do baptisms as proxy, and I have strongly felt the spirit, which has been a really nice experience. Show more Show less
