Hi I'm Jeonghwan, Lee

I'm a farmer's son, I'm a university student. I'm the youngest of four siblings, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a famer's son raised in in Gokseong county, Cholla-Province, of hard working parents. I'm the youngest of 4 siblings and was the student body president in my high school. In 2009, i entered JeonNam University and am studying Bio-Industrial engineering for my major. For my military service, I served at the Southern Cholla-Province Jin-Island Coast Guard Military base working with TODs, (Thermal Observation Device), scanning for enemy ships. As of now, I am serving as a missionary in the Korea Seoul Mission. I enjoy playing soccer and basketball and also enjoy watching baseball and soccer games as well. My favorite movie genre is Romance. I'm kind of a serious guy but i like to laugh. I love my home country of Korea.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church since i was born, but i wasn't always the model member when i was younger. In my teenage years, i thought church was a bit dull, boring and an obstacle to my happiness. I didn't think i needed the gospel in my life. I just wanted to be with my friends and have fun. My High school senior year was the one of the hardest times of my life because i was always competing with my friends and studying hours without end. Because it was difficult time in my life, I started to read the Book of Mormon for the first time. As i read, I felt more motivated to study harder in school and be a better person. I was able to see myself progress and my friends saw it too. As i graduated high school and started school at JeonNam University I began to really think and ponder in my heart how the gospel has help and influenced my life. It was a great opportunity to renew my commitment to the gospel. I saw my parents and fellow church members great example of living the gospel and wanted to be like them, and from then on i committed to follow the gospel and received it with all my heart. I don't just believe because my parents attend, but because I know for myself that the church is true, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In my military service required of all young men in Korea, it was difficult but I learned a lot and worked hard. I read the Book of Mormon and the Bible before i went to sleep each night, which was different from most of the other soldiers. Despite the questions and teasing at first, the other soldiers saw how faithful i was to my beliefs and they respected me later for it. The military was a difficult time for me, but I'm grateful that my faith helped me to overcome the many challenges I faced. I am grateful that I was able to feel Gods love during those hard times. I'm an ordinary student. I was a faithful soldier. I'm the youngest of four siblings. I'm a Mormon

How I live my faith

Before i was a missionary, i attended church in my hometown and served as the church secretary and was also youth leader. As I've attended church I've enjoyed a lot of happiness, but more importantly I've seen myself progress and have become a better person by serving others. The happiness that comes from serving others is a happiness that can only come through experience. Helping others isn't always easy but service is truly the fastest way that a person can gain true happiness.
