Hi I'm Monique

I grew up in Utah. I'm currently an undergraduate student trying to balance work, school and family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a undergraduate student, studying Family, Consumer and Human Development. I love learning, and especially about child development. I've been married to a wonderful man for a couple of years. Life is great! In my spare time I love to sing and play the piano. I have been singing since I was a really small child and I guess it sort of stuck. Every chance I get I love to be singing and preforming. I also enjoy playing games, cross stitching and most of all, being with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member since I was age 8. I choose to stay because I know it is true. I believe in the plan of salvation, or the knowledge that we are here for a reason and that we know where we are going after this life. I believe wit all of my heart that families are eternal. I know without a shadow of a doubt that because I was sealed to my husband in the temple of the Lord, that I can be with him forever. I believe that my brother and Savior, Jesus Christ came down to this earth to gain a mortal body, to live a perfect life, and then suffer the pains and afflictions of the world to be crucified so that I may return to live with him and my Heavenly Parents again some day. I know that he was resurrected and that he will come again to this earth. I know that this gospel brings me peace. When I am living in accordance to the councils and teachings of this gospel, there is a peace and strength that comes into my life that I cannot find anywhere else in this world. I truly love this gospel! Come see why.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by fulfilling my callings the best way I can. I'm currently the relief society secretary for my ward. This is a fun calling. Every week I have the opportunity to visit with new sisters in my ward. I love getting to know people. I also enjoy doing my visiting teaching. I'm not always the most consistent, but when I am I can feel a difference in my life. Some of the closest friends I have came through visiting teaching. I also live my faith by trying to live every day as if the Savior were beside me. I try to follow the council that the prophet and apostles give, as well as what the scriptures council us to do. Some days that is as simple as smiling at those that I pass while walking.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Monique
Husband and Wife are to live together as equal partners. They are to support and lift each other up. I have always understood the union of marriage to mean that you are partners and that no person is higher up than the other. You both have your separate duties, but you are to support each other in those duties. Together you are to love and nurture the children that come into your home. Raise them in righteousness and love. Families are eternal, and are sacred. They are to be treated with the utmost respect. Show more Show less

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Monique
The church does not endorse any political parties. However, the church does encourage its members to be active in their government. They encourage all to pray and study about the issues at hand in the political field and make your best judgment as to whom you should vote for. Show more Show less
