Hi I'm Dan

I've been in the Edmonton area all my life. I teach values in the school system every day. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love doing creative things - from art in its various forms to music (vocal and guitar). I love integrating art into my teaching. I think that life should be experienced through different perspectives and respect others point of view. One of the greatest achievements in life should be to understand our neighbor and make the world a better place in our own communities.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I grew up in the church, I actually learned the truth of the gospel message when I was 24. I was searching for something real and lasting, and I had allowed myself to be away from God and a supportive community of Christians. I feel truly grateful for the time when I was humbled and my pride stripped away. It allowed me to see my life as it was and make critical changes. Since that time, the Lord has helped me through every trial, every struggle with the same infinite patience. Today, I consider where I am and the joys I have felt and cannot imagine what my life would have been without the truths I have come to know. Our Heavenly Father is real and near to us everyday. He is not an abstract being far removed from our lives. I know that he is intimately aware of us and desires nothing more for us to return to him. I know this because of how he has worked miracles in my life for this same purpose. I love him and will always be grateful for his gift to me.

How I live my faith

My goal would be to serve others as an example of my religion. I have found that people respond well to unselfish offerings of service. Helping a fellow member of the church or my community to succeed and have a better day brings joy to me. Serving one another is where its at.
