Hi I'm Patrick Sullivan

I'm a husband and a father. I am a Safety Professional in construction and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

First and foremost, I am a husband and a father. I love being a Dad. I have three beautiful boys. Don't get me wrong. I love my wife too. I moved to California from Illinois in 1998 and my wife is the main reason I'm still here. I am a Safety Professional with a construction company so I deal a lot with regulations, insurances and training. Hobbies and interests of mine include drumming, golf, sports and fitness. I used to play in several different bands when younger that included several different styles of music. I also used to play ALOT of softball and I used to be an amateur bodybuilder. Notice I say used to.... I really like to play golf. But, it's kind of expensive here in California. College football is probably one of my bigger passions these days. I love watching those who still play for the love of the game. Overall I love being me. I have a good life. I have a home filled with love, laughter, tears and fears. I have been blessed with a wonderful wife and wonderful children. What more could a guy ask for??

Why I am a Mormon

I truly believe that the Lord has been in my life for many, many years. Even before my conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I felt his presence. Years before even moving to California, I had the opportunity to attend the wedding of my cousin. There weren't many of our family there but it set my mind to thinking what it was about this church that was so difficult for people to understand. For years after that, it was always pressing in my mind. When I moved to California, I met a wonderful young lady that eventually introduced me to the missionaries where they took the time to explain to me and answer what those thoughts and questions were that were in my head for so long. Finally!! It all made sense. It made sense that Christ was and is still at the head of His church. It made sense that we have prophets and apostles today just as Christ did when he was on the earth. It made perfect sense that families have every opportunity to be together forever and live again with our Heavenly Father. I love my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. I know that they in turn love me and desire only the best for me and my family.

How I live my faith

You may have heard the gospel tune.."This little gospel light of mine"? Well, that's how I kind of look at things. I pretty much let my gospel light shine wherever I go. No, I'm not perfect in any way, but I try. I try hard each day to be an example. I try hard each day to be a good husband. I try hard each day to be a good dad. I serve in the church as a bishop. You might refer to that as a pastor or a preacher. I try to help others whenever I can. Especially the younger children and youth. We live in a world full of turmoil and stress. Our children and youth need our examples more than ever these days. As a bishop, I am responsible to seek out the poor and the needy and to give aid to not only those among our members but throughout our community and our city. I know that as long as my little gospel light shines, I'm going to let others see it and hopefully they can light their own gospel light off of mine. Our scriptures tell us to be an "Example of the Believers". That is simply what I want to be..... a good example. I'm not perfect...but I try!!
