Hi I'm Timothy Leo Robertson

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I played soccer extensively and traveled the country with my team. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life has been characterized by music and soccer. I sang in my high school's Chamber Choir and also played for the men's soccer team as well. I fell in love with soccer at a young age and have played for a variety of teams and organizations across the state. My last team, which I played on for 4+ years, has played in several tournaments located across the country. Our team progressed to the semi-finals or higher for most of the tournaments, often placing in the top three. Ever since a young age I have been musically inclined. My musical prowess ranges from piano, to guitar, to drums, and a handfull of other instruments. Over the years I've collected enough equipment to record my own music and do so regularly. The performing aspect of music has seen some light as well. I played for two different rock bands who played in small bars and outside music festivals. I participated in many choir showcases and performances growing up and enjoy it dearly.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, meaning that my parents were members and raised me in the Church. My mother was a convert from Mexico and has been crucial in bringing me up in the Church. I do not have an amazingly inspiring or outstanding conversion story, but I don't feel that I need one. The morals and convictions that the Church instills in its members in more than enough to keep me engaged. I love the way families are the center-piece of the LDS faith, because it inspires me to do my best to keep my family in my heart. I love them dearly and I know that the Lord has helped my family out through our hard times. I know personally that the Lord answers my prayers daily and continually helps me to be a better person.

How I live my faith

Currently I am preparing to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I will serve the people of Colombia and am extremely excited for this opportunity. As preparation I participate in service projects across the community like, going to the food bank and sorting food, helping families move, and even cleaning up the elderly's yard in preparation for the winter. When traveling with the soccer team we'd often end up in unfamiliar areas on a Sunday. We'd search around town and find an LDS church building in order to attend the Sunday service. The local church goers would gladly accept us into their building with open arms.
