Hi I'm Colt

I grew up in Idaho on a farm. I have been called to serve in the Mexico Monterrey west mission, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I like to spend my time playing musical instruments, but mostly the guitar. I love building things and working with metal and wood. I am trained in welding but have not pursued certification. I am very interested in politics and current events and like to well informed. I love sports and hiking, particularly mountain climbing and pole vaulting. I work on a farm but would also like to pursue politics or music while I am getting my education, but I have put that all aside for a few years to serve as a missionary in the Mexico Monterrey west mission (Spanish speaking). I have a love for languages and I have been learning Spanish for the last few years.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in a predominantly Mormon home, but I have always had the choice to follow the gospel teachings or to not. I am a Mormon because I believe that this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and that he died so that I can live with my family and Heavenly Father again. I know that the power of the priesthood is real and have seen many miracles in my own life and the lives of others because of it's power. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and that every part of it testifies of the truth of the teachings in the bible and the revaluation given to prophets of old and today.

How I live my faith

I have devoted much of my life to public service and service in the church. I spent much of my teen age years cutting wood, and doing yard work for people in my community who are not capable of doing so for themselves. Every Monday night I go and participate in church activities with my other people of my age and faith, usually doing service projects or studying the gospel and some times even playing games and just enjoying each others company. On Wednesday nights I have meetings for my calling, where me and 3 others plan for, and organize upcoming events in our ward. We spend the meeting discussing our fellow ward members and how to bring them closer to their savior. I have been called to serve as a missionary for my church and will be serving in the Mexico Monterrey west mission, effective 2013 and I will be serving for 2 years during which I will be representing my church in Mexico and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ in Spanish.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Colt
I have chosen to serve a mission, but I have many family members and friends who have chosen not to. It is not required to serve a mission, it is a wonderful opportunity to share your beliefs and teach others about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
