Hi I'm Shenay

I grew up in SLC, Utah. I am majoring in Music Therapy, I'm going on a mission to Hong Kong, China. I'm a mormon!

About Me

I am a sophomore in college, and I'm majoring in music therapy. I love music. I love playing the viola. I love the outdoors. I love being adventurous. I love learning new things. I love to dance and play soccer, and I love laughing. I come from a family of seven, and live close to all my extended family. I am leaving in January to serve a mission in Hong Kong, China and cannot wait to get out there and teach the people.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been blessed with the knowledge of the true church all growing up. I was baptized when I was 8 years old, and have never doubted the truthfulness of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My testimony grew the most at age 14, when I decided to find out for myself if the church was really true. Words cannot describe the feeling I received as an answer to my prayer. The power of prayer is amazing. I know that my Heavenly father listens to my prayers, and cares about my concerns. I know that I do not go through my trials alone. I know that if I pray with a sincere desire to receive an answer, I will receive one, even if it is not immediately. I know i am never alone. I know the savior knows exactly what I have and am going through. The atonement is real, and is SO important. I know that I am not perfect, but I strive every day to become a better person, and am so grateful for the atonement so I am able to repent and be perfected through my savior. I know that we have a living prophet on the earth today. I know he receives direct revelation, and it is important that we listen and obey. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of god. I have received countless answers through reading my scriptures. I say these things in the name of my savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I am currently in a student ward, and have the great opportunity of meeting lots of new people. I am in two institute classes at the nearby university, one of which is the special needs institute class. I love going to these classes every other day, because it automatically makes me have a more positive attitude throughout the rest of the day. I also love every chance I get to go to old folks homes and hospitals to visit with the people there, and try to improve their lives in little ways, as they do mine.
