Hi I'm Katie

I am from South Jordan Utah. I am a pre-med student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have played the violin since the fifth grade. I LOVE to go to football games and love it even more when I lose my voice cheering for my favorite team. I am currently a pre-med student and hope to become a pediatrician or a physician's assistant in the near future. I come from a family of seven kids. I have four brothers and two sisters and I love the adventures that we experience on a daily basis that come from the fact that our family is so big. I love hiking, camping, and going to rock concerts and classical performances. BBC is my favorite channel. I love those old movies with Grace Kelly, Bing Crosby, Jimmy Stewart, and Cary Grant. I can watch Alfred Hitchcock all day long! I love service and do my best to help in any way that I am capable!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this church. I have always known in my heart that this is the true church of God and that I am doing the things that I should be. It really hit me during my senior year of high school that this is the truth and I was able to gain a testimony of the gospel. I read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover for the first time during my senior year. After I had finished reading the book I got down on my knees and asked if this was the truth. I was overwhelmed by a feeling of peace. I love the Book of Mormon and the peace that it brings to my life. Without a shadow of a doubt I know that this is the truth and that I can be with my family for eternity because of the blessings that come from the temple. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet on the earth today and that he has been called of God to guide us through these hard times. I love my savior Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith saw Jesus Christ and God the father in the sacred grove over 100 years ago and that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon for us. I know that Jesus Christ knows me personally and loves me. I know that he atoned for my sins and because of this I can repent of my sins and become clean in the sight of God. I am not perfect but I know that as long as I do my best and try to live the way I should, that Christ will make up the difference and allow me to become like him.

How I live my faith

I love my church! I am currently preparing to serve as a full time missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have spent many hours visiting with specific members of my church so I could get to know them and help them when they are in need of anything. Whether it is somebody that they can talk to during a difficult time or just somebody to help them move I am always willing to help. I truly love those people. I have done many service projects with the church. I have helped out at the special Olympics at my local high school with a group from my church. I have also done yard work for the elderly, and participated in food drives and blood drives through my church. Working with the young girls in my church has helped me become a better person and a better leader.
