Hi I'm Alyssa May Winger

Asking questions, watching the sunset, going to the temple; I am a member missionary and I am a Mormon!

About Me

KEEP THE ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE!!!!! I was blessed to serve a mission in the Iowa Des Moines Mission. It was my dream to serve a mission and I was given that opportunity by my Heavenly Father. It was an honor for me to be able to wear the name of my Savior over my heart for the time He gave me. I now as a member missionary get to continue to wear the Saviors name over my heart. And still bring people closer to their Savior. I have truly been blessed to have a family that was sealed in the temple for Eternity. I love my family very very very much. They mean everything to me! Playing outside with my baby brother is by far the greatest joy I could ask for. I know that I have a Savior and that he loves me. I know that this is His work and that He will not let us fail if we do OUR best. "Miracles really will follow our faith.." -Elder Andersen. We just need to do our best and everything will be alright. 'Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.'Proverbs 3:5-6. So I hope you can recognize what exactly describes me. My Savior will forever be the center of my life and the heart of my soul. I love this gospel so very very much. Endure to the End! So that you can have an Eternal beginning.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon is like having your eyes opened in a mist of darkness! I have really been able to understand so much from being a member of this church. This life is hard, and God never said it would be easy. But he did say he would give us ways to endure and have joy. And this Church really does bless families in this crazy upside down world. I know that as I am faithful in my Covenants and if I press on with TRUST and faith in my Heavenly Father, and most of all in my Savior Jesus Christ. And His atonement. I thank my Father in Heaven for what he gives me, trials and blessings. :) Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ+Repentance+Baptism+The gift of the Holy Ghost+Enduring the End=PURE HAPPINESS:)

How I live my faith

I live my faith by asking questions. Something that I deeply learned on my mission is that it is okay to ask questions and it not mean that I am "doubting" my faith. Just as Joseph Smith had to take many steps and ask many questions; God WANTS us to know why we do things. I don't believe in blind faith. Because it is more than that. It is an opportunity to exercises faith. Gaining a testimony of the covenants that we make actually deepens the love and our desire to serve God! I love wearing the name of Jesus Christ on my heart and really trying to be an example to the people around me. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints truly makes life worth living. It isn't just a religion it is a way of life. "Never give up what you want most for what you want now." This is what my mother taught me. It reminds me that I need to keep going with my goals and to never ever give up. Keep going, ask for help. And remember "What you do know will always trumph what you don't know and remember that in this life, everyone is walking by faith."-Elder Holland.
